<div class="IPBDescription">especially for space marines</div>Please for the love of god; release ns2 with a good, solid in game chat. I played the original ns, loved being a marine; and i couldn't stress enough the importance of communication in a rts/fps game. Now with the original, it was push to talk but that was because it was a mod for hl. I'd like an option to have voice activated chat as well as a push to talk option. Currently i find myself playing on PC Dawn of War II, they released with voice activated chat and patched in an option to push to talk, the key couldn't be changed, none in fact could be changed (making it even more stupid the ptt button is the ~ key). i know you won't make this mistake. and if you read some forum posts about their in game chat, people hate it. Personally i like it, i have two real life friends and some online friends that play; none of us have problems with it. I'm assuming that the problem people have is that it is hard to configure, it's done through 'games for windows live' and the setup process is best done with someone else on the other side; ive had to walk numerous people through this process (3 minutes, but at the end it was working fine). My point is that it should be easily configurable (Idiot Proof) hard, i know what with bandwidth concerns and what not, but please consider.
I remember in ns the marines were really hard to play, the aliens usually won; but when you got a good commander who used his mic and knew what he was doing; and had players who communicated; oh baby, victory was still tough but it was so ###### sweet!! (except when the aliens realized that the marines had their act together and tried to switch teams). Still, great game sessions always have good team communication (l4d, dow2, ns, cod, halo, etc...) so it would also be cool if there were a way that (server decided) we could insure that the people on our team had a mic and could use it (except if they're annoying, but that's what mute is for).
