<div class="IPBDescription">Ability for Gorge or Alien Commander</div>Version one:
Gorge places these for a small amount of res (limit of number active mines per player).
-Lay a tiny egg thing which when mature (takes a few seconds) opens yet creature just lays there cooing every once in a while in its comfy hole of an egg.
-When it senses marines are close it kind of starts to growl in anger.
-When marine are within sight and range the Screamer/Screecher pop out of the egg making a loud high pitched scream and flies in a straightish line towards the marine only to explode on impact dealing high damage with splash effect. Perhaps a quiet marines can sneak by.
*Are fairly fast but have low HP once out of it's egg.
*Will heatseek and curve to hit moving targets.
Version Two:
Leaves everything the same but it also allows alien commander to select a mature screamer and activate manually taking control of the flight path (but no control over speed) and has a few seconds to hit something before the screamer just explodes in mid-air. (Think Redeemer in Unreal Tournament)
How it should play out:
*Alert marines should be able to hear the screamer growl before the actual activation, and take appropriate action.
*A lone Screamer should not pose a big threat, it comes out and you shoot it in the air. Multiple Screamers jumping at you at once is another issue.
*In combination with skulks the danger increases because the screamer is loud, fast, and distracting and would server as a perfect aid for ambushes.
*In a gorge retreat, a pre-set screamer around a corner would force the marine to divert fire away from Gorge.
*Promotes teamwork in both teams, especially aliens.

Relevant, I swear.
Relevant, I swear.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I was aware of that movie. Yet I did not what to draw attention to it because I don't want the idea to be related to bad sci-fi. Despite the few similarities. But thanks to you for that.
"Seekers" is another name option.
the idea is great - its a trap - but its not a cheap kill because it gives the marine audio warning.
also do the marines have a chance of disabiling the egg somehow? like a grenade?

I have seen them all and loved them all.

It would make sense for a well aimed grenade to take it out. Fair trade off.Shooting the egg should also work, but would waste a lot of ammo since the egg is small and you'd have to be pretty far away.
I don't remember the movie Screamers being good, but if you're into the type then maybe you'll like it. If you like old or cheap sci-fi. I'd recommend "The Langoliers" and "The Final Countdown" both completely different movies but they do have a few things in common...
-I like them.
-they got fairly old/cheap special effects.
-But they have lots of narrative and pretty good characters.
