NS2 at PAX. What's gonna be there?!

Gonna be there. Gonna party with you guys. But i've got an itch i hope you can scratch a bit. Can we get any insight on what's going to showcased at PAX? I know you guys said you have like a 20x10 booth. That's pretty large, definitely large enough to make a playable gamescape. It's been 7-8 years since i've know some of you. Who all is going to this gig?

Perhaps a full-size onos to ride? Of course, they might have to use an elephant saddle.

I bet they'll have a bunch of scantily-clad gorgeous gorges with big "resources".

I will be there. Our clan has a sort of traveling fade (made out of clay I think?) that gets mailed around for photos and stuff to each clan member. It is currently in Canada but I plan to have it shipped to me in WA state before September so it will go with me to PAX for some photo ops. I would like to see Flayra and get a pic of him with the fade. If he can't make it then some scantily-clad gorgeous gorges will do.

Any update on this? I will be attending PAX as well. I didn't see Unknown Worlds on the floor plan that was released.

Oh geeze, I've always wanted to go to an expo like this and to my disappointment I just checked and saw that PAX is in Washington state. A heck of a long way away from Louisiana!

People always ignore New Orleans... (DiggNation please visit one day!)

Edit: And I noticed some people in this thread didn't see any mention of Unknown Worlds being at PAX. Well a quick "Bing"ing and I found this link. It's a pretty recent list too (posted on August 7th).

That's cause they'll be on Level 5... they don't play with these other lowly companies like EA, Valve, and THQ.

Well that would be a shame if they decided to pull out and not tell the community...

Level 5 must be like the secret room. Maybe you have to crouch jump over the Valve table?

In my experience with jumping over tables it is always best to couch jump, especially when valve is involved.
  • EddieEddie Join Date: 2004-10-22 Member: 32412Members, Constellation
Or you can just pretend like you're going to the secret room and press F4 once you get to the valve table, and then all the nubs think it's really there, so they start jumping and pushing each other around the valve table to get in the secret room... but we know...

    Hey guys,

Actually, I hate to break this to you, but we decided not to go to PAX. We realized that in order to make it worthwhile, we were going to have to spent a lot of time and money both getting a demo together and designing and building a booth.

We underestimated how much the whole thing would cost us and the huge distraction it would be to the team. We've all worked on games where we've had to drop everything for a month or two to get ready for a demo and most of the time it delays the project by at least that amount, or more. We didn't want to slow down and can't afford to either. So we made the difficult decision not to go.

Hopefully we'll see you guys there next year!

/shakes Flayra....'s hand. I wasn't going to PAX anyways so I don't care, but the fact that it means alpha sooner makes me happy :D

O man, now I'm so glad I hadn't bought my PAX tickets yet.

Good thing to hear in a sense, hopefully alpha/beta will come out sooner!

Sucks we won't see any game play footage, but I imagine the next few months are already very tight with the alpha/beta/release coming. I don't see a full release this year, but I can see the beta starting by halloween if the alpha goes out in the next month.

Glad to hear you guys would much rather work your tails off on the game than put development time off. Just avoid all nighters!

    Stay healthy, and keep going!

I think you made the right decision. This will work out better for the whole community. Now I must wonder if you still wish to attend a mayor conference/expo between now and release. And what option are there?
