Street Fighter IV

or: how close I am to spending 1000kr on a fightstick.
I guess everyone knows what Street Fighter is, so I will skip telling you about it. I bought it for the PC when it came out about a month ago. I have been playing steady with my keyboard but I feel like trying out a fightstick. I really set my eyes on the mad catz tournament edition fight stick, but the prices I see really discourages me. I could go with the standard edition (tournament being better parts, sturdier somehow) but I'm thinking "If I choose to spend some money I could just aswell spend alittle extra and get a stick that won't break as easily." 105 british pounds plus shipping is a bit much (amazon.co.uk) and equals to what I have to give for one (If I find one) here in Denmark.
Are there better, cheaper options that I won't regret choosing? Did avyone buy a fightstick from mad catz? What should I do? Bite the bullet?
I guess I should say that I don't really play other fighting games (not yet atleast, SF4 kind of gave me an appatite).

I cannot help you.

Without the weight it doesn't feel as good and I can do stuff on the tournie stick can't do with the pad or other fightstick.
The buttons on the tournie stick are craaaaazy sensitive. You can just brush your fingers across them to set them off but they're good so you won't accidentally set them off by bumping the table or shaking the stick around; they only go off when you touch them so don't rest your fingers directly on them and you'll be fine :3
I was worried about spending £150 on one but it's been really good (and it's not like I couldn't afford it).
I guess what it comes down to is how much use you'll think you'll get out of it; if you play a lot it'll do you no wrong. It's really up to you if you think you play £150's worth of street fighter and other beatemups (BLAZBLUE!!!!!!!!!) within your lifetime to merit it (I probably will :3 ).
crappit, I keep on ending up with people mentioning that show, now I really am going to have to go back and watch it again :P
Surprisingly forgiving, but forget getting zangief's special or ultra off, same with guile's. It's (I imagine) nowhere near the arcade stick feeling.
Scythe, I'm not a hardware 3l33t haxor, so I'm not comfortable starting that kind of project.
I have just reached the "500 matches online" achievement, so I guess I get some time in the game in the future.
I have watched a few Blazblue matches and as impressive as it looks it still puts me off with its generic anime characters and art style.
I can afford the tournament stick which is 210 $ or 126 £, but it's still alot for just one game.
But it is glorious:

Really? I always found the Streetfighter cast kinda bland personally and I'm not sure how the blazbluers are generic considering the likes of Arakune :/
Different people have different perceptions I guess :3
The stick isn't just limited to SF4 y'know... it's kinda funny to play arcade games on it (e.g. turtles, though my friend has been using it to play splosion man too :o ) and it works well for most fighting games (including Marvel vs Capcom 2). It's really up to you how much you use it though :p
Oh and LF/Than rock for their slayer-ness. Though Lina's the bestest :p
I would never be able to get past the feeling that I was yanking around a gigantic demon nipple.

Oh great work, Scythe. He hadn't even thought about that. Now you've ruined his stick. I hope you're happy!
That's what she... dammit. Sorry. I'll go sit in my corner now.
Anyways, I'm with the leet haxor ppl and would build my own. You can order the parts for cheap and get yourself a dremel, soldering iron, particle board, and some other electrical junk. Then again, I'm lazy and don't feel like spending my afternoon+evening building one.
I thought of it more like a stream of blood coming out his... cyber nipple...
Maybe if Gem was on PSN... she could add 'Shockeh', and we could play SFIV.....
On topic:
I have SFIV. I play Akuma, Gouken & Cammy. (In that order, recently mainswitched from Gouken) I bought a TE Stick from Scan.co.uk when they apparently mispriced them for £98. It's the best thing ever. You should buy both too. This is all I can provide.

Nope. PS3 players and 360 players can't fight it out, either. Blame Sony & MS.
Made for 360 but it's a USB connector so works for PC I assume.
Not really, but it was the only place to position the background w/o either covering his head or cutting it off. :(
I'm so disappointed in you trouble. ;)
