Author <i>Nathan Knaack</i> has written a handful of short stories that each explain or give you some insight to a part of the game and storyline. These are all <b>very</b> well written. If you are interested in Sci-Fi books, then I would recommend reading them even if you aren't into the game, they are all very easy to get into, require no knowledge of the game and are just great to read.

No head hitboxes = no headshots.
Infinite Ammo. Your weapons recharge/reload but no need to replenish ammo.

No friendly fire, but you can hurt yourself.

Shields will NOT have collision detection against players.

Alliance Campaigns with 45 day competitions/seasons to gain territory, construct facilities, produce/steal resources, construct/protect an alliance complex, and destroy a rival complex.
Battles are instanced.
Non Agency players fight together as mercenaries.
Battles have one round and end when objective is met or timer runs out.
Death penalty is a respawn timer.

    It is definitely looking very shiny.

    I also have a promo code, but yes they are limited in use. However, apparently they give slight preference to networks who all use the same promo code to join the beta.

    A good friend of mine was in the alpha and really enjoyed it. Plus the dev team is responsible, tight-knit and very active with working with the community.

    I'll have to wait for the fall to really try it though. Internet for the summer is crappy.

    I work for <a href="http://www.gamereplays.org/globalagenda/" target="_blank">GameReplays.org</a> and I know the guy in charge of the Global Agenda section, and he gave me a beta key so I'm in. It starts tomorrow, I believe. I'm looking at perhaps becoming a shoutcaster for the game if it's any good (although I kind of don't want to pay a monthly fee...) but it looks pretty neat so far.

    Everything looks good on paper- except using the UT3 engine.

    The graphics engine is superb (the best available, IMO!), but making the assumption that it'll also use the UT3 no-lag compensation netcode then I'll definitely not enjoy it. It's the only reason I can't play UT3. It's bad enough playing with fellow 30 ping Brits- it'll be horrific playing with other Euros.

    Well, that's what betas are for.

    I signed up for the beta a while ago, I shall have to wait and see if I get in before I comment. I've only ever paid for an MMO for 2 months of my life so it's gonna have to be something pretty amazing.

    Did not know people have keys, I'd love one if they have an extra.

    I like the art direction though. It's almost an unspoken rule in the (western) games industry nowadays that you can't have pretty and futuristic in the same game. In fact, it's more like if you're doing futuristic, you must pair it with a certain word that RHYMES with pretty. And can be used to describe gravel.

    The only pronunciation dictionary.com has for "pretty" is (in IPA) "/ˈprɪti/" which means you're doing it wrong, Rob. How do <i>you</i> say pretty?

    From the descriptions I've read, it sounds less like an "MMO" and more like a reguar FPS ladder/competition.

    Even the "60 v 60" fights is just split up into 5-6 different battles of "8-12 v 8-12".

    That sounds fairly cheap. It's just a regular FPS with some integrated ladder and RPG character development. It sounds boring, frankly.

    That doesn't sound good at all. I am going to sit here and demand that all the ###### tossers who said that Guild Wars is no MMO attack this in an equally vicious fashion. Because that's no MMO at all.
