<div class="IPBDescription">AI support for the players</div>I had a idea when watching the star craft 2 battle reports. Would it be a good idea to have units that the commander can build, that are AI controlled?

The idea would be to have for example a very strong robot the commander could build. He would be big, dumb and strong. the command could then move him around the map, even his pathfinding could be very bad, it's not important.

I'm not totaly sure if it's a good or a bad idea. But it would add the possibility for the commander to have a few "loyal" units he can command. don't know if it's better if they are big strong and costly like a big bad ass robo or cheap and very weak like.. i don't know, the star craft builders.

good, bad?

PS: could for example be used for a scout unit, a wall-e like roboter. or a builder that the commander can use to build stuff when nobody can help him to do it. or android versions of the real marines (ok, that might not be the best idea)

Thats slipping a bit too much into regular single-player RTS territory. The whole purpose of the Marines in NS is that the normals "units" are all real people being commanded by a real-person commander.
I'm sure that, much like in NS1, people will code bot AI to use as well. But I don't see it being built into the game to have an actual "robot" unit.
