general question to scripting and custom maps

Today I was asking myself a question about scripting in NS2, but Im
not sure if the devs already consider this or not, so i will just fire it up
here:
Will it be possible to include map specific scripting?
I mean there will be default / vanilla servers and on the
other hand modded servers. Thats clear.
But I dont know if you (the mapper) could add your own
code for a specific map. For example add a new weapon,
building, some neutral creature or whatever for that map
only. So it would work on default servers and modded servers.
My first idea would be some giant robot guarding some important
res node, if you destroy the robot the node will start harvesting resources
for you and the robot would become member of your fraction
and guard the position, until it becomes destroyed from the other fraction etc. etc.
