The Banning Thread In Server Ops Forum

Will it tryly be effective?
Here is a question I wanted to throw out to all server admins:

Will the People To Ban thread really accomplish what it is intended to do?

My argument is no, and for the following reasons.

Firstly, the forum has the potential to get out of hand. As was even mentioned, anyone can make a post, and while people should have to provide evidence, there is still the possibility of this occurring.

I think one reason why this thread is stating is because of the limited MOTD that can be posted in NS. So people have been posting here, instead of e-mailing server admins.

If people e-mailed the specific server admins the wonID's and the other info, than you would not have to have this thread here. The Thread may even give people a bad picture when they come here to visit, and see this huge thread listing all the players that should be banned.

I have changed my view on this just recently, as even I made a post in the forum on one fellow who was ruining the game.

It is also not practical, as no admin is even going to bother scrolling through this list to add all these won ID's. That's why I'm against it, it's just not going to be effective in punishing those who disturb the NS gaming scene.

But, then I have to throw out another question.

Is there really a more effective way we, as admins, can accomplish this mission to make life difficult for those trying to ruin the NS community?

Cheers!

Well honestly, I can definitely see the problem behind that thread. NS was intended to be llama free. Certain exploits/bugs that cropped up in the 1.01 patch as well as lack of knowledge of some of the more tertiary abilities of the commander have made games become llamaized.

Once NS becomes llama free, and players learn about things like motion tracking and sensory sweeps, the game will become pretty hard to screw with.
