You obviously have a OC-48 connection or better, or youre lying. As for the "SERVAR SENDS MOER INFORMASHUN!!!!11 IT SI TEH SERVARZ FUALT IT SI NOT WROKING PROBELY!!!!!111" I can only say one thing: **obscenity**. The game is coded badly. type developer 1 in console and see the spam.
Youre all a bunch of retards who actually, contrary to the popular belief, started flaming ME first. Read the first page. Thank you very much.
its quite simple absent, just go on a different server - no wait actually don't, it's people like you who spoil games like this, go back to CS.
Nobody on broadband should be complaining as i'm still on 56k as i can't really afford broadband in England yet.
Yet i still play NS and on servers where it never lags once. I get lots of kills too. You don't need to be a low ping **obscenity** - its skill that counts not your "uber 1337 pings".
Stop complaining.
I haven't followed this mod for that long. When I installed it i instantly noticed one thing. How utterly professional this MOD actually is. It might not be much, but things like the install screen and a separate menu in the start menu show attention to detail that a lot of mods lack. That's not even mentioning the game its self which just happens to kick **obscenity**. For a beta 1 this mod is extremely polished. Just keep up the good work devs and don't listen to "spoiltboys" like absent.
how about this: starcraft, with 8 player game, TONS of units on the screen all doing different things. not much lag. but I guess I could attribute this to b.net having uber-servers.
I wont complain about the net code or anything, but what I am curious about, is didn't the playtesters run across this problem? I mean, with all the games they played, surely they would have tested out NS with lots of players. Or do all PTs have real powerfull machines?
Well then we're retards who believe we can spot a netcode from anothercode. the devs said so themselves, NS mod is a demanding mod, even for a dedicated server. PRobably one too many clunky old box out there, used to running CS, that tries to run NS. The high latency you see is most likely due to the dedicated server being a wheezing old underfitted box having to churn through so many variables that it can only update each player's position every half a second or less.
It was really bad at day 1 of NS, but soon they released 1.01 and I've seen a lot more servers where the ping is 50ish with 14 players. When does the code stop being bad and the server trying to run it start being underpowered, can you tell me mr. Absinth?
It does lag behind, but it's not necesarily the NET CODE. It's the OTHER CODE. And there's only that much optimizing to be done. Sometimes a ton is a ton, and if you can't tow it, get a bigger truck.
