A lot of you probably saw this linked from <a href="http://www.ausns2.com/news/flayra-interviewed-at-rps" target="_blank">AUSNS2</a>, but I thought it had a lot of interesting information.

A couple of choice quotes:
<!--quoteo(post=0:date=:name=Charlie)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Charlie)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->There are a couple scripted bits in there that may not be part of the in-game experience like the Onos ducking through a door, the Onos moving slowly (he’s a playable character and no one wants to move that slowly!) and the metal flaps fluttering when the door is smashed, but I would say it’s very representative of the game.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So no fluttering vents :-(. A pretty game nonetheless.
<!--quoteo(post=0:date=:name=Charlie)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Charlie)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Both sides have evolved since NS1 and for the aliens that means some new squareish elements and armor where they used to get shot. They borrowed these elements from the marines.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So the new look of the onos may just be cosmetic and not locational armor damage. We'll see though.

<!--quoteo(post=0:date=:name=Charlie)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Charlie)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Which of the following would you be prepared to bet on NS2 meeting its planned Fall release date:
1) $1000 2) the life of a friend’s cat 2) your own little finger 3) the life of a close blood relative?

Ouch! I think I’ll have to say “#1 for $1000, Alec”.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Nooo, at least bet "the life of a friend's cat"!

Oh well, here's hoping we can test the game thoroughly and efficiently.

    I reckon they'll meet the deadline. They have been very careful with not setting a deadline throughout the whole process so now that they have given us one must mean they are confident they can meet it. Would like to know when alpha will be released tho. Should be before the end of June i would have thought!

    The comment on the aliens evolving to imitate the marines softens the change to the onos a bit. If the rest of the aliens don't look nearly so changed and the marines look equally changed it might actually work out better than some people think.

    i wish i knew how the alien commander role would play out. Currently, my top 2 concerns about NS2 gameplay is marines getting their own weapons from the armoury and the alien commander. I know UWE probably knows how to make it right. I just want some more info so I can worry less.

    It looks like the Onos will be bashing though doors in game. I just hope that it uses the animation sequence from the teaser, it would be very dramatic to see a door being bashed down after you'd just welded it shut and not knowing exactly what will be behind it (apart from a massive onos of course <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />). I like the idea of the aliens evolving to become more marine like in order to better adapt to their environment, fits with the literature nicely, I'm only worried about the fact they aren't ready to bet on the life of a close relative for the release date.

    To be honest if I'm playing beta by the fall I'll be very happy!!!
