Plus the VAT is already included in the 39.95 -> if it werent it wouldve said so. Online distributors HAVE to tell you what other costs might arise when buying that product.
Even if its Euroes i pay the same..
Convertion:
$39.95 > €28.26 > 301.69 SEK.
But as you feelas say that VAT is with the price then i can support ca 300 SEK.
Well new Battlfield games are out so im going to keep an eye on this game. (unless i collect 300sek in a way as i needa job <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

Well, NeXuS. My bill ended up on 313,56 SEK all things included so it's nothing to worry about.

i pay about 30 euros, so its fine.
I guess you pay about 304 SEK
12sek more is not that bad, its like a soda drink here.
316,16 SEK
The only difference is probably the currency exchange rates. You should be looking at only a few extra kronor.
about the tax, the swedish government already has the worlds hioghest taxes, so i think they have enough money.
i'm anyway not STRIVING to give them any more money.
i remember buying hl1 on steam for $10, but when i was gonna pay they added 25%, which is the swe tax.
VAT receipts should make it clear if it's being added.
Paypal does a better job than steam btw. Their policy is 1€ = 1$ So buy now and save money if youre outside US :)
My concern was whether anyone had thought about 'the rest', I appreciate that there's no liability for the consumer, it's whether there's a potential for someone to come along and snaffle >10% of the pre-order payments plus interest for late payment plus penalties for late filing etc...
thats sooo far off the truth...
steam charges VAT based on location, then uses whatever payment method to get that money
paypal is just a method of paying, and it uses the normal exchange rate plus a rate they get for exchanging the currency, based on what the shop charges.
uwe will probably be screwed if this is ever really investigated, because they should be paying the european governments VAT, even though they don't charge it in their payment options (which steam does). Some companies get away with it by stating that it's the customer's responsibility to pay the VAT themselves, but none of that was at the pre-order site, so UWE has to take care of it afaik.
I visited steam just now.. Random game;
39,99$ = 27,90€ + VAT = about 34€
Price in steam = 49,99€
Wat?
it might have seemed that way with some exchange rates over the years, but that would have been a cooincidence, never exactly 1on1
Does anyone know if UnknownWorlds has sorted out the VAT or other sales tax implications of taking pre-orders yet? I'm resolutely avoiding pre-ordering at least partly because I don't want to add to a tax problem later. Has anyone pre-ordering from the UK had a VAT breakdown of their bill and does anyone know if they're now just selling through a third party (e.g. Valve) rather than directly?
For the UK, there's no need until they hit £60k p.a. turnover, but that's fewer than 3k top price pre-orders and I thought globally there had been quite a lot. I can't remember where they gave a number though.

You must be the most honest man on the planet. Just pre-order already. Chances are whatever tax you have to pay is already being taken care of. If not then why should you pay a tax when you buy something from a website in a foreign country in the first place. If anything you'd have to pay import tariffs but there's a threshold I think and I doubt 40 Dollars is enough to let you go over it. If virtual goods are even subject to import tariffs at all.
And if worst comes to worst you evaded what 5 pounds in taxes. Whoop-dee-effing-doo!
