Pre-order vs. steam

I'd love to pre-order simply as thanks, and I note that the pre-order will auto-update, but I want to make sure about a few questions since the pre-order is separate from steam:

1 - Does the pre-oder include an option to re-download indefinitely?

2 - Will people who pre-order be able to play with people who get the Steam version? Will there be any difference?

3 - Are Steam community features going to be enabled for the game? What about Steam achievements?

If these questions have been answered somewhere else, I apologize. I looked but couldn't find.

#2 I can tell you is yes, you can play with people who buy it off of Steam.

Thanks. That's what I figured.

As for the rest, I decided giving them a greater % of the $$$ was better than worrying about the other stuff and went ahead and pre-ordered the special edition.
