Selling, german USK...

Hello, i am very happy that natural selection 2 will come out.
You will sell this game over steam right?
Great idea, i will pre-order if we can.
But the big problem in germany is, the damn <a href="http://www.usk.de/" target="_blank">USK </a>
They prevent childs from playing bloody games and stuff, thats not the problem, but for adults its a mess, because the developer cut their games sometimes very bad and extreme...like half-life 1, you shoot robots compare to military...how stupid is that?
Just because valve want to sell this game to kids..
Team Fortress 2 spawns gadgets if you shoot an enemy.
Thats not a big deal but i don't wanna see that in NS2, i will never buy that game if that happens...

My Question:
Will Natural Selection 2 be cuted for the germany markt?
Maybe its not bloody?
Or did you not need that, because you don't sell any retail? (i hear about, the USK can't test games without retail?!)
If yes, what will you cut out?

The cuteness of the gorge will make up for any kind of violence and gore.

The problem with hl1 was that you were shooting humans as human. They didn't have to make the aliens into robots.

I don't think there will be any problems, tbh.
You are either going to shoot aliens or you are playing an alien to bite marines. You can't go nuts and do that in public one day.
Afaik the devs don't plan on aliens biting off extremities and the little red blood, you see as alien, is only there to indicate the hit and is probably used in moderation.

You'd have thought that as long as UWE don't sell retail copies in Germany and don't have German support (the game in German) they wouldn't have to censor it?

I know Valve do, though. The online copy of L4D gets censored if the buyer is located in Germany.

Given the nature of the game I'd have thought censoring it wouldn't be too bad- a different coloured sprite for blood splatters and re-skinning the TSA models so you can't see their faces?

thats the point, i hope UWE will never sell a ns2 retail on germany in stores, so no usk (or am i wrong?)
what ever, i hope there is no damn usk like for l4d or killing floor.


P.S. i read about UWE using paypal too, thats great, the only paymethode i can use <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

The USK would probably put it into the 16+ (like HL) or 18+ category (like HL2).
Apart from the blood, NS doesn't contain that much violence, no headshots etc.
The addition of the flamethrower might result in an 18+ rating.

If (IF!) they decide to release a retail version, it really only depends on UWE.
The USK doesn't enforce censoring.
But I hope there won't be any, wouldn't have much influence on the target audience anyway.

I dont think L4D is censored. At least, when your Steam is in english..

Anyways, +1 for no-cut german version, please dont censor.

L4d dead is censored.
I have the cut version and my steam is in english..

there is nearly no gore and when you kill a zombie they just despawn
before they hit the ground..

so lame..
