Hmm, I should try that before Steam abandons Windows XP as a platform, which is the last Windows OS that supports the old 3dfx cards.

I have four Voodoo2 cards (2 x 8M and 2 x 12M), I'll probably go with the 12M ones.

I vaguely remember S3 Virge being called a "3D decellerator". I also remember some people arguing that PC didn't need 3d acceleration and could do it all in software by just having more powerful CPUs than everything else; they way PC had beat e.g. the Amiga and it's fancy BLIT hardware.
