running of dedicated server v32

After following the procedures of installation, when I tried running with the following command, I got an error:
./hlds_run -console -game ns +exec server.cfg +maxplayers 16 +map ns_shiva
Invalid game type 'ns' sepecified.
Tue Mar 24 16:08:22 SGT 2009: Server Failed

This is based on hlds_run
Protocol version 48
Exe version 1.1.2.1/Stdio (valve)
Exe build: 18:05:13 Oct 24 2008 (4383)


Can someone shed some light? Thanks.

Goto your hlds directory (where you installed HL Dedicated Server) and make sure that 'ns' is a subfolder, and within that subfolder is all the server files. If it isn't, make sure you untar the ns server files properly.

Also, I've been told you might have to check the steam_appid.txt file in the hlds folder and make sure it has 70 in it, but I didn't have any issues even without it.
