Idea for map

<div class="IPBDescription">Some ideas for a map</div>hey i was thinking about makeing a map with the layout of it based on the film Aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> .....i got the film, bin watching it over and over again to get the idea actually floating in me head, just kinda stuck on time to do.
tell me plz if its a good idea or if n e 1 else is doing it

    I'd say don't.  You can draw inspiration from the movie for sure, but don't just blatantly copy it or anything.

    im not gonna copy it wall for wall or every little bit off dust just a kinda layout like it...you know go down into the atmosphere processor area kinda just not exactly like it <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->. Make it with like the wall areas and stuff like it, if you watch the film its like completely empty but some areas are working, baracades are put up and there are little holes in em for the aliens to get through (smaller ones). lights not working some doors halfway open but you could be able to see like the aliens running past it to get to an area were you are. The only problem with it is the grateing underneath coz of commander mode you wont be able to see them because of the over lapping area. its just an inspiration from the film to make a map and i just tought it would be a good idea since its basically the same scenario marines vs aliens.

    i have a couple of 'Room' ideas that aren't at all linked to this topic other than by the idea being for someones maps. I would've started a new topic for this but this is more space saving.

    1.) big room, near the surface. large square skylight with bright light pouring in. other than that the room is pitch black with steam coming from the walls. maybe pipes or something.

    2.) Another large room but with a giant bridge thats been blown to pieces. Which makes it entirely unpractical, maybe instead have it as a bridge going to a little island floating above a giant pit. on the island could be a resource node, could lead to lots of dramatic fights what with level 3's flying around and Bobs crawling across the walls.

    it's impossible copy the movie...it's the best alien themed movie ever!
    And...it's too detailed for being able to copy it
    And...the locations,like the generator in alien2,is turning on itself,so impossible for the commander view

    hmm don't copy the movie, just try 2 capture the atmosphere of the movie, I noticed they used lots of blue lighting i nthat movie, when I think of aliens I keep seeing that dark blue and the guy hacking the electronic lock ,when it's raining, dunno why <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    Aliens has those logn corridors but they seem cramped, again by the blue lighting etc.

    aliens 3 has really much red lightning, this gives it a factory/industrial feeling i think. which it is of course.

    Alien 3 uses mainly yellow and brown, not that much red light in it.....

    Alien 3 has alot of over head ducts (aswell as aliens) and miles of passage ways, you would have to choos e a specific area of the film to base your map around, thats the same with aliens the area in the film is huge..miles.

    Just like the idea that its basically the same scenario aliens vs marines and as soon as i saw this mod in development i instantly thought of makeing a map based around the aliens film.

    I know that i couldnt copy the EXACT same areas as in the film its just that it would make an amazing map tense indoor situations between aliens and marines dark passage ways, lots of air ducts and wires and steam and omg......it would look good.(not saying n e of the maps in development now arnt good lookin <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->).
