Before you make a hasty judgment read it.
My Idea is, the aliens are animals just from another planet, maybe they "mark" some surfaces.
The Mainidea is:
You see a marine soldier, so you pee (automatic?) on the near surface, for all aliens is a visual decal for a short time of XX (e.g. 5 seconds.).
Thats because no alien have a voice command like "there attacking us".
To get not nasty, you don't hear or see a pee animations, just the wet yellow specular decal.
Thats it a simple idea.

So many peoples annoy me with that "its not real" thing...
Is it real a CHAMBER can build buy a animal?
Is it real a animal can explode?
Is it real that 5 diffrent animals (meat eater) work together and born from a hive?
Is it real that a animal can get upgrades?
Is it real a marine soldier spawn on a infantry spawn?
Is it real a commander have the view over the map and drop weapons in a building?
Is it real a animal can build a ressource tower?
and so on ad nauseam
Its a game damn, its not needed to be 100% real.
Animals mark there territory, so think about it.
The frontier of the aliens mark the territory of aliens...why its not real?
Animals mark there territory by pee, so if you see a marine, you mark the frontier.
If you think its disgusting, i don't understand, you don't see the animals peeing, you don't see the animation you only see the decal.
And i think its more disgusting you see the a**hole of the onos <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
To be honest, if it doesn't have a real life counterpart, I'd rather avoid urinating as a gameplay feature. Maybe that's just me, but I bet there are way cooler ways of doing it.
The hive is kinda psychic anyway, it could probably handle the communication like that.
Lol, I never noticed that before.
Anyway maybe instead of urinating the aliens could give off a pheromone or just use some high/low-pitched sound above/below the range of human hearing so that other aliens can back him up, kind of like how in NS1 a red sprite comes up for a team-mate under attack, a different color could come up for a team-mate near a bunch of enemies. Maybe it could be scent related, triggered by marine sweat, maybe jet-pack "fuel" will trigger it first, maybe heavies can't be scented because the armor is nearly air-tight. There are many different solutions to this problem, the simplest of which would of course be to just add an alien voice-command that humans are in the area.
As for this idea, I don't think this is necessary. Because typically, every game you have enough skulks to parasite marines and I think that serves the purpose well enough. And if you have too many fades, onoses, lerks so that you can't parasite, well good for your team then!
