Just now it told me that cookies were not enabled. I went for a look in chrome's options and they were. Both internet explorer and google chrome stopped working at the same time.

I'm genuinely not kidding about this. We've seen at least one case where someone has had their Internet facing router hijacked and compromised with a web proxy that's keylogging all their activity. Paranoid? It sounds it, until you've seen it happen. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
It may be worth resetting and reconfiguring it after an update to the latest firmware, if you're unsure.

I actually deleted my cookies and it's still a problem.
