Halflife: Lets face it, it's short, ultimately the consecutive times I played through mostly because I wanted to try tricks I saw in speed runs.
They Hunger: The best single player halflife mod there is. Also one of the earliest I tried. Back about a year before I had even joined these forums I ran through pretty much every single player halflife mod I could find. There's alot of good stuff in the HL modding scene, as we should all well know <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Fallout 2: it's fallout 2, what can I say?
Zelda, Link to the past: It's a classic, it's fairly short once you know the game. Any time I get another revival and am interested in the SNES again it's one of the titles I'm likely to come back to.
Zelda, Ocarina of time: First time was just to beat the game, second time was on the GC remake (master quest? can't remember what it was called) third time my little brother was playing through the game and I basically ended up taking over and doing the whole thing for him instead.
Chrono Trigger: Simply put, IMO the best RPG ever made. Played it back in the day and then when I got a SNES later on replayed it. I don't see myself replaying an RPG ever again, they are not really my genre and usually take a huge amount of commitment, but CT is an amazing game.
Earthbound: Similar story to CT as to why I've replayed it, but it's not as amazing a game in all honesty.
Mario 3: It's been around forever, and isn't really all that much a time commitment all things considered. It was inevitable.
Super Mario World: The first SNES game I ever played through to completion IIRC. An great title.
Yoshi's Island: I'm not even sure why I like this game so much, in terms of content it's shallower than SMW, but the level of execution is just off the charts. This game should be on anyone's list of best platformers of all time, although sadly, it probably isn't
Mario RPG: Meh, it's a pretty good game, same basic reason behind why I replayed CT and EB
Act Raiser: It's a short enough game. A good playthrough though.
Syphon Filter: I loved this game as a kid, it represents some of my earliest memories of the playstation. I recently replayed it... it's a decent example of what a good story and gameplay formula can do for an FPS. Although honestly, it's been better executed by splinter cell.
Banjo Kazooie: IMO the best platformer for the 64 (yes, mario 64 was great, but banjo came along later enough that it was able to fix all the mistakes mario had made simply from being the pioneer of that genre, and do so without really making any new ones)
Final Fantasy 7: Beat it at a friends house (which is somewhat of a feat considering a fast playthrough is about 35 hours). Later when I got my own PS I mastered the game, getting pretty much every secret possible and working most of the characters to level 99. A great example of solid RPG gameplay, but Chronotrigger is a better game :/
The curse of Monkey island: Every summer my family used to go to my uncle and aunt's house for about 8 days, and just hang out. We did alot of fun stuff there, but the only PC game worth mentioning they had was monkey island. I think I played it for 4 years before I finally beat it, Every time I had been there since (3 times) though I beat the game again. Most puzzler games are pretty easy to beat once you've done them before. Monkey island is still fun because there's so much humor you miss going through the first time.
Some of the tony hawk games: They're ridiculously easy once you've developed the skills, and the first few you could do the plot in about an hour.
Pokemon: Does playing through both the red and the blue version count? I know they have a few differences, but they are basically the same game. I must admit... I was trying to catch them all... I never succeeded.
Sonic the Hedgehog on gamegear: I had a gamegear, it was one of the only good games I had. I beat it on many long car trips.
Tailspin on gamegear: Not as good as sonic, but a shorter game.
Aladdin on gamegear: I had alot of long car trips <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
I think I've beat the crimson room a few times... and probably many other flash games... but you can't really count that stuff as the majority of them have a shorter than 45 minute play through time.
