Phase Cannons!

Well I was just talking to my buddy Noxolan and the legendary strategist (Radix) who has no lack of suggestion for NS2, and we came up with this really cool idea!
The idea is this : It's -KIND OF- like a phase gate, except when you press E on it, you shoot into twenty feet into the air, giving you several advantages.
1. You get to pretend to be a fade.
2. You can get parasited while in the air and suicide due to fall damage.
3. That's all I can think of.

So pretty much you can upgrade this from the obs and it costs negative ten res.
Balance issues? Non-existent.

what about when you start to fall down? death?

Seems abit pointless, i think jetpacks are honestly fine for allowing marines to get to certain parts of the map later on in the game.

I propose we make this an innate function of phase gates, where anyone who duck jumps on the built gate and then jumps off of it gets a lot of vertical acceleration added. This will provide for a lot of interesting tactics too where commanders will place gates in cool locations on purpose to allow smart marines to take advantage of previously inaccessible terrain. Think of the ns2bhop movies we can make. Best idea I've heard in my life.
