187 combat policy

Since http://187combat.com/forums/ don't accept registration anymore, I'll post here.

On 187 combat server, you got limits if you are not a donator to 187 combat (onos, ha, gl ...)

Basically, this community is exchanging money for NS game assets.

Set limits of your own on your server ? Ok, your choice
Demand donation/fees for your server ? Ok
Demand donation/fees to raise limits ? Hell no !

The registrations are down because the forums at one point were being "attacked" by porn spam bots, so for a quick fix, we just shut registration off. They will be turned back on shortly.

Demand? I don't see how we're "demanding" you to pay something. We aren't forcing you to do anything, it's more of a choice. We aren't even forcing/demanding donations for the server, so I don't see how that's relevant so that negates what you said about forcing payment to increase limits.

Most servers that have buildmenu don't even allow you to build more than what we allow per person; and some of those servers base it off the entire team instead of each player. Through the largest amount of donation, advocate status, on aliens you can build up to 10 ocs (5 without donating) and even 5 seems too much at times. On marines, it's the same deal, except instead of 5 TFs, you can build only 4 and so on and so forth.

Onos are pretty much the only thing limited because we like to try and keep a balance instead of making aliens win practically every time because of something as simple as "I have more HP than you so ha ha". The limit is set to 1 onos per every 4 marines if I recall, so that's a total of 3 onos. If you donate however, you can bypass that limit and you don't have to worry about it. Also, Heavy and Onos are set to only allow them when one side has 8 marines/aliens, and for JP and fade, it's set to 4.

The GL limiter is a joke, everyone knows how to bypass it so I see no reason to discuss it further.

Why do we impose these limits? To make it more fair for both sides. Do you think it's fair that aliens should be able to onos in a small game of... let's say... 4v4? No, and if you think that... then you have problems.

I've already suggested making the donations, atleast for the first one, to be half the price, so instead of 10$, it's 5$.

So you limit onos to make the game more balanced and fair and then you demand money from ppl in order to screw that limit and thus balance and fairness?!

I don't see how it's being demanded. If you don't want to be limited, go and donate, if you don't care about it, then don't. As I said previously, we aren't forcing you to do something here.

From the start, we have not allowed complaints about servers on here, sorry. I know you can't post on their forums right now, but please find another means of contact. This forum is for NS, not how each server is run.
