Hallway style near the marine start points.

Its different, which is good, but perhaps too colourful? Not sure if i quite like the lighting as well, but it looks more contrasting in game.

I don't consider myself clever at deciding what looks good in maps, but I think this looks orignal and cool!

    I like the blue-red-green theme.

give the light some more contrast and I think some red lighting or blue, hm mperhaps even yellow will fit in there perfectly, I'm a sucker for coloured lighting

Looks very clean, and THAT I like, however, I'd hate to be an bob, wandering off in that corridor, since running on the ground is not that effective and certainly wont catch any "off-guard" marines. Ok, that flat thing in the roof, that is very good, since I will say u knew I was gonna talk bout bob, and u did that flat for a quick travel for bob .

k, nough "bob"-ing here, the pipes, I really DO like, but personally, I think you could add some more metal and original ns-textures, since that is a little too happy colors for me but again, that is my personal comment, so either u agree or not, no one will cry, just do your own thing and do everything as YOU want it to be =)

That looks very slick and clean. Far different from most of the thems in the current NS maps. I like it alot!

Yeah, we cant have all our ns_maps be grungy. Its cool that youve made a region of sterilized map. You could have NS_HOSPITAL!

I personally think that a clean look is much more realistic, unless whatever the map is has been abandomed for months, then it would be pretty dirty.

It kinda looks like Red Faction, but of course is good. I'd much rather have a whole bunch of different styles of maps than a whole bunch of maps that look the same.

You really have to take into consideration though, that if we want these maps to be realistic in one way or another, that most of these maps are in places that people would be living in (Communications base, Flagship, etc). If people had to live in something that wasn't very warm/happy, 9/10ths of the crew would most likely crack in a few weeks. Take a look at System Shock 2, for example. The level designers created a space cruiser that is the closest thing anyone will ever see to a real space cruiser, ever. They gave the ship a warm/happy look, and if you've played SS2 you can agree that the crew most likely wouldn't crack on something like that. Yet somehow, Looking Glass Studios managed to create an envirement that scared the #### out of most of us. Mabye it was sounds, or mabye it was the fact that we all new that something could pop out and kill us at any second... That doesn't matter. SS2 is the finest piece of work I've ever seen. If it's possible for mappers to create the same kind of thing in the HL engine, then I'll be impressed, and gratefull

I don't know. I just seem to think that this corridor is far too plain. You're all talking about how a crew's happiness and etc. is affected by their surroundings. Well, sure, but you can have a grungy area that would still be habitable. I think the one thing that could really make this shot better is contrast. I think that, more than grungy textures, lighting contrast will add to the overall feel of a level.
