<div class="IPBDescription">4.99$ on steam.</div>I just logged on steam to find that The Ship is for sale at 4.99$ this weekend. I guess there's a couple of hours left of the save.

Who's getting it?
I had fun last time I played it, must have been in a free-weekend run. If enough people here buy it, we could set up a game session? (something we should do alot more often, with other games aswell, when free time overlaps)

I greatly disliked the ship when I tried it... So I think I'll abstain.

I've already got it: one of the guys at work convinced me to try it out a while back. I spent more time trying to work out where the freaking weapons and 'need fulfilling' stuff was than actually killing anyone.

It's a nice idea but I'm not enthralled by its execution... could've done with being a bit more sympathetic towards new players by, I dunno, explaining things? telling you where things are? Crazy ideas, I know, but I'm just totally out there like that :p

Couldn't you play with non-Australian people? That's what I do. Then again I don't live in Australia so there's that.

There's a map that shows icons for where all the need refills are.

The Ship was a niche game before today. I say 'before today' because today they released a patch that more-or-less destroyed the game. The new patch gives you 100% constant and continuous updates on where your target is via a compass on your HUD and through the map button. A lot of strategy on how to avoid your hunter (being near stairs when the quarry location updated, for example) is now completely gone. Their whole clothing and identification system is now worthless. Before, you had to walk up and click on someone to get that person's name. If they changed clothes, you lost that ID. Now that a compass constantly tells you where your quarry is, both of those systems are meaningless.

They also jacked up the frequency of weapons and drastically decreased the time it takes to fulfill needs. It's funny, because more weapons and faster need fulfillment times would have made me happy but they just took it to extreme levels.

I loved the ship for hl1, played it for many hours, and was hoping the source version would still retain the same feeling. However, I was quite disappointed, the source version just isn't as fun, but i just bought it because it was so cheap so maybe i'll give it another go.
