Infested Marine

<div class="IPBDescription">A new alien lifeform</div>I kind of had the idea of an infested marine as a new alien lifeform. Not the normal forms like Fade or Lerk you can grow into from an egg, but more a form kind of like a headcrab from HL. It could be a slightly adapted skulk with somewhat thesame abilities [bite, leap, parasite] except as a fourth skill it would grab hold of a marine and infest it. [e.g. 1. initialiste infestation mode 2. leap towards marine 3. 4 seconds infestation time in which the alien/marine is vulnerable 4. marine becomes an alien and marine dies]

The result of this infest mech. could be a bit more sluggish moving marine with even HA being vulnerable thus creating heavy armoured walking, possibly shooting marines. Maybe also the ability to release the marine body en stop the infestation, also maybe an explode skill with gas effects/damage effects...

The idea is very rudementairy a.t.m. and may be proposed already [search function doesn't really work smoothly here] but could be a good idea if worked out properly.

    Love it. Only I would make it so that the victim would need to be say below half health for it to work. Once captured you could stand in a dark area and be mistaken for being normal still. It would add to the creepyness. I also like the idea of being able to plant them as a gas bomb. Second hive ability?

    I somewhat like it, what i think would be cool is;

    Leap would change a bit, whereas if you directly leap into a marine and hold leap (would take some skill), you would actually latch onto them. When a marine has a latched on skulk, they have decreased move speed, and cannot attack the skulk on them. The skulk would always be attached to the marines back in the same position. From this position, the skulk would be able to bite the marine, or alternatively, infest them. Infesting would have a little progress bar like devour, shorter if the marine has less health, and a lot more for a HA. To stop this, another marine must shoot the skulk off the marines back.

    I think the leap (attack 3) slot should be replace with infest/infect/whatever. This attack would infest a marine when latched on, and would have another purpose otherwise.

    After infested, the skulk would drop off and seemingly die, and the player would control a marine, which would look very similar to a normal marine. This infested marine would run a bit faster than a normal marine, and would not be able to shoot, but in fact bash other marines with the primary weapon of the marine infested. Better weapons would result in more damage.

    So marines would have to pay closer attention to their team mates to make sure they are actually marines :]. The differences could be some bloody scratch wounds on the marines back, so the infested marines have to make sure not to show their back to other marines.

    I guess the infested marines could also have a number of attacks, based on the hive level, such as;
    1- Bash
    2- Rush/Charge
    3- Death Spore (explodes like xenocide, resulting in an umbra and poison cloud)
    4- Fire the Primary Weapon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />


    In conclusion, this is pretty stupid. I certainly dont think it should be implemented. I just am bored.

    I'm not to found of this idea. It sounds to much like the spy from TF2 (or TF1 if you still play it) and I'd much rather have limited to (if we need it at all) to dead marines. It seems if that a marine with no name shows up or that that the dead marine tells him that his body is infected then you just shoot it, the end.
