Yeah, this game has been out for a short bit, but wandering who actually plays it?
I have MH2 and I gotta say, it's very fun. Sometimes it gets frustrating, but what game doesn't? IE: Grid Le Mans 24hr. -.- lol
MH:GT came out, but I think it's never going to come to the USA, but I have a friend who can "hack" a PSP and a group of his friends translated about 95% of the entire game for us Non-JDM (Japanese) readers. They didn't translate the idle banter between NPCs that just say "Hi" and what not.
The game feels like Final Fantasy Online, except 1-4 players only on a LAN/WiFi haha. It would make a great MMO though. Many types of weapons, armor, crafting, food, stuff, more stuff lol.
Only problem I have is deciding if I should stick with a specific weapon or two or just use a whole wide range of weapons and armor.
Wish the PSP could have Online play over the net. I think there is a program though that allows you to do it, but I believe it has a montly fee to it.

If you're seriously interested in playing it online keep an eye out for Monster Hunter Frontier on the PC. Capcom currently has no plans to bring it over to the US/Europe due to the difficulties of setting up a network and the like but they've definitely got their eye on these terratories for sometime in the future =o

The reason I never got into the MH franchise in the end was in the original game use had to use the analogue stick to swing your weapon (this was potentially cool but they did it badly) and the online support for the PS2 in the uk was non-existant =3
Obviously the PSP only has one analogue though (used for movement) so I'm assuming they'll have improved it a lot since the first outing.

Also, the music in the climbing section cut in PERFECTLY. (What IS that lady carrying on her back? Assorted elephant tusks?)

And holy crap the game looks totally different on the console version then compared to the PSP.

That reminds me! Monster Hunter 3 is coming out on the Wii! I'll have to pick that up! =D
As for the armour and stuff lolf, in the original all your armour was made from bits of the dragons you hunted (which is why the lady climbing is covered in tusk things and stuff). As per the PSO formula though it seems that as you get higher you also gain access to a few comedy items (in PSO my fave was akiko's frying pan. It made a wonderfully addictive 'spong' noise when you smacked enemies in the face with it. Not the best weapon in the game but lots of fun =D ).
That's why I'm looking forward to MH Frontier and possibly MH3 if it has online (though I'll buy it just for the chance to wave a wii mote around while fighting dragons XD ).
GT will never (as far as I've been told) come to the states by the company. Downloads, hacks and what not you can still get it. For example, I can. My friend's friends for example got the game and converted all the language from japanese to english. Except for idle banter.
