Missing files

<div class="IPBDescription">they really arent there</div>i tried to test the basic room(and view solid mode) and got the missing wad error.
i thought great, dumb error. but i checked in windows explorer...no halflife.wad...
same goes for gfx/pallette.lmp when trying to load textures...
if anyone knows how to get QuArK to run just off ns, or has the files Help me...im begging...please <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

If you don't have the HL1 CD (to get the half-life.wad from the pak files using <a href="http://quakestuff.telefragged.com/" target="_blank">pakexplorer</a>), you can get it from the GCF files using <a href="http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26" target="_blank">GCFScape </a>--> half-life.wad is in the root of half-life.gfc located in your "drive:\Steam\SteamApps"
Since I don't use quark, might I ask what gfx/pallette.lmp<!--coloro:#FF8C00--><span style="color:#FF8C00"><!--/coloro-->*<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> is used for? I dun wanna do a google on it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

pallette.lmp is also located in the half-life.gfc btw
