<div class="IPBDescription">In Regard to LUA Mods</div>My apologies if this was covered before - I don't recall reading or hearing about it.

Will the authors of the mods retain copyright to their work, or will UWE assume all rights to some subset and/or all LUA mods produced by the community?

Well copyright law being what it is, any LUA mod (as long as its published without include ANY LUA code that comes with NS2) if its not based on any part of the LUA already in NS2 would not be consitered a dirivitive work. And as such you would retain full rights to it, regardless what unkownwolrds wishes).

However if your mod is to "tweak" the fireing code, and you just take the LUA for shooing a gun that natural selection already uses and change it, it would be a deriviate work, and potentialy if unknownwolrds wishes to they could push the copyright. Now I very very much dont think they will in any way, given thier previous history, try to inforce that copyright as long as you arnt selling it (or mass distributing it and claiming it as your own).

You can probably see what thier policy will be given the release of thier copyright for the images they produce:
"Feel free to use any of the images posted on our website for non-commercial sites supporting Natural Selection."

So if it isnt commercial you probably wont have a problem.
