Thompson is striking back with allegations against the Judge and others, complaining that loyalty oaths were never signed. "Tunis made 21 recommendations of guilt in relation to Thompson's participation in Strickland vs. Sony, an Alabama case in which the anti-game attorney represented the families of two police officers and a police dispatcher slain by 18-year-old Grand Theft Auto player Devin Moore. Tunis also recommended that Thompson be found guilty on four out of five counts relating to his 2006 attempt to have Rockstar's Bully declared a public nuisance in a case before Miami Judge Ronald Friedman. An additional two guilty counts stemmed from a non-video game matter."<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Uh.. I can only assume some do, though this really has nothing to do with that in particular. This has to do more with a lawyer who has been conducting himself in a manner unfit for courtrooms. The context and cases in which he has acted inappropriately doesn't really matter, its more just the fact that he has been acting inappropriately, making unfounded claims and wild allegations within a court of law. There are rules of conduct for courts and while the parties may sometimes be able to get away with breaking these rules, due to their unfamiliarity to them, it is expected for their council to know and abide by them.
Mr Thompson however has so brazenly ignored these rules consistently and this case and story is really just about that.
We'll have to form a fake fan club. You know, pretend that we agree with and support him, so he'll keep sending us his latest thoughts and ideas, but really we're just laughing.
I have said it a few times now, however I suspect that Jacko actually works for Rockstar.
He creates great publicity for all of their products, with out actually harming Rockstar in any way (ok, so he didn't rant about Table Tennis, but still).
He is also the greatest defense against anti video game legislation. His methods are so over the top, silly, stupid, and illegal that any proposed bill/ordinance/what have you will either not pass, or gain enough publicity that people will fight against it instead of just letting it slip under the radar. Combine that with the ability to quickly tar anyone else with the same brush by sending him along to 'help' them with their anti-videogame movements and you are safe and sound!
The argument that he is an idiot and doesn't lend much authority to the anti-games movement may seem plausible, but when you apply that notion to the average super-conservative US consumer, who votes according to party allegiance no matter which jackass is running, who re-voted in Bush and who overt marketing and advertising actually works on, who still stands by the right to bear arms in a constitution intended for a society centuries old and in the face of worrying levels of gun crime...
...I think we can agree that it's a good thing Thompson is soon to be losing any influence he once had.
If you're not the average US citizen, you have my sympathy. And yes, I know a lot of the problems in the US are being progressively mirrored over in the UK, it worries me too.

so, what was that about GTAIV doing record sales?
I really don't think he is hurting Rockstar, or anyone for that matter.
Remember, he might be able to sway the sheeple into thinking video games are murder sims, but he isn't likely to sway a judge, in fact he is likely to piss off judges enough that they recommend that he face prison time for the crap he has pulled.
