The game's website: <a href="http://www.s2games.com/savage/" target="_blank">http://www.s2games.com/savage/</a>
You can only download it using bittorrent. It's an interesting game, though I'm not sure I like it.
It could be fun if any of you want to jump onto a Ventrillo/Teamspeak server and go fill a server. I got bored of it pretty fast because I didn't know how to do much and it was like playing a bad single player game since it lacks voice communication and the text communication is very small and seems to be basically ignored.
Their website is kind of funny. They make like they invented the RTS/FPS Hybrid...

But yeah, there was this big set of arguments between the devs and the forum goers before it was released, NS was mentioned more than a few times...
Was NS really the *first* FPS/RTS hybrid?

Not really. There was that... battlesomething 2 game where you can drive ships around on the ground or be a commander... Can't remember its name for the life of me.
There was also that space game that redford's constantly harping on about. Allegiance? Or something? Then there was always Dungeon Keeper, which was far more an RTS than a FPS, but you could take direct control of your guys.

IIRC the devs were good and never claimed to have invented it.
All in all, go pay $30 (or possibly still $25) and get Savage 2 on Steam.
it is better tbh.
Battlezone 2?
Came free with my 8Mb Voodoo 2 card (Shockwave post something about commodore64 games so i don't feel so old, please!!).
It was all about ejecting from your tank and sniping the bad guys through their cockpits. Ace.
