<div class="IPBDescription">On Steam</div>So, what is the deal with S2?

I enjoyed playing Savage back in the day, and S2 looks to be all that Savage was and more.

Any one actively playing?

Is there a trial?

Should I buy it?

Anyone want my referral if I do buy it?

I actually bought it a long time back, I pre-ordered it and played in the beta a bit. It's fun, worth the money. Haven't played recently, but I think I'm going to start again now.

so ,there is a referral program, how do I put you (cabuse) in as my reference, so that you will get a scratcher ticket?

I would like to hear your impressions of playing. I played the original a long time ago(lost my key), but lost track of the franchise. I found it fun and I wonder how they improved on the original.

if you want to play the original you still can. It will accept anything as a key as they took the auth servers down.

No it isn't technically legal to do this, but S2 POSTED all the info on how to pirate the game (including links on where to download it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

I will post something tonight about it.

As was just pointed out (and I forgot to mention), there is a demo available, just not through Steam. You need to download the client from one of the other <a href="http://savage2.s2games.com/download.php" target="_blank">servers</a> and create an <a href="https://savage2.s2games.com/create_account.php" target="_blank">account</a>.

I am lazy and didn't really feel like going through with the demo, and am cool with putting down the $25. Not sure if you would end up needing to download it 2 times if you wanted the $5s off from steam as I don't know how that account is made and handled yet.

So I am going to bump this.

Everything that made Savage awesome is still there, and those things that made it kinda meh (lack of action often) are now gone.

Seriously, give the demo a try.

I like it, and if yalls to buy it, set your referrer as thansal if yah don't mind <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

I was reluctant to download the demo at first, but went ahead and did so anyway. Only takes me about 17 min from the European mirror.
    Will tell if I like it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I gave the demo a whirl. seems decent enough but it didn't really grab me. it's a jack of all trades, master of none sort of thing, from what I've seen. it's cool that it combines fps, rts, and rpg elements, but none of those elements are particularly engaging to me. maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance and I need to play some more to start getting the nuances, but so far it feels like a watered down FPS where you have to rely on your probably braindead teammates to gang up on people more than in most FPS games.

The poor melee system and persistant items are two seemingly small problems, that actually killed the game for me. The "top" player on their persistant list actually has very poor playing skills, and he admits it, among abusing their point system, in an interview. Also, the devs sometimes play (With a full inventory of epic persistant items) who also rage shut down servers when losing.

....Its great if those issues aren't a problem. I bought it, but regret it in hindsight
