NS 2 will support a WALL-chambers ?

<div class="IPBDescription">(in a NS3.2 we have a Plugin to support that)</div>In the daily game , we have some CO_FACEOFF map play time, and we found a server.

this server sh0ws up the WALL-Chambers. The gorges have a "buildmenu" , and if the gorge see the wall, before hit the "buildmenu", the Chamber planted to a WALL, or ceiling.

    Dude it's NS2 not NS:Source :/
    Using the term *:Source implies either A) a mod, or B) ownership by VALVe.

    As for the idea itself, I think it's been mentioned before, but yeah, excellent idea, I think.

    I for one would vote for wall chambers. Makes the infestation cooler looking. I vote overall for smaller cheaper weaker chambers than can be spammed for infestation and adding them to walls would be cool, but with a different model to look like gravity is affecting it.

    There were plans to put this in NS v3.2, but I don't know what happened that led to it not getting it. (likely a number of factors like time contraints, needing to make it look polished, the version of the plugin at the time was buggy)


    I bet Depot would know more about the story...



    It would be great for chamber to be fully 3D in their placement. I retain my previous vote one this.

    if i planted a OFFensive chamber to a wall, the RES cost is not 10 ?

    maybe the cost is 5, and the off is weaker, smaller, and the firepower is under 10 (per spike) ??

    no, he means make the costs of all chambers lower, but make them smaller so in effect you can just have a lot more of them (he suggested, to spread infestation). if you place it on a wall, ceiling or floor, the cost wouldn't change depending on location.

    Haha, sorry, but that's ######ing hilarious.

    I already explained Hendrickson's idea; which is somewhat off-topic and a separate idea, but does in part tie into this idea, and arose because of this idea.

    Yes I can get the main point of what you both are saying, but sometimes the grammar is a bit befuddling to know if I'm getting the whole point. I'm not the only one. It wouldn't matter as much in a casual game, or when just hanging out having some fun, but when you are trying to get a critical point across about a new great idea or a vital criticism of an idea it's important to be understood but your audience. I'm sorry if I'm coming off sounding like I'm preaching; I'm actually trying to help. I'm certainly not perfect myself (heck nobody is), but if your audience has trouble decrypting your grammar, you either loose audience or loose your persuasiveness.

    If I say, "Know what is car very fast and great deal for $3000 dollars less, now buy!" can you tell I'm selling a car for $3000 less that's a good deal? Sure, but the fact is that some people will either start ignoring me or not listening as well. In other words, it has less to do with the language used and all to do with the audience understanding you. This goes for EVERYONE here (otherwise this conversation would be between PMs and not in the public thread), myself included. If you are trying to make your points with regards to new ideas and suggestions; try to make them a clear as possible for your reading audience to understand you clearly and effectively!

    As far as this idea, I think it is great and should be worth of a genuinely determined attempt to include in NS2. (I would not have voted for it if I didn't strongly support it)

    I think what's going on here is that HatlabuFarkas is not able to understand or write English and is using somekind of babelfish translator to translate our posts into his language and his posts (in his language) back to english.
    Correct me if I'm wrong here HatlabuFarkas! Anyway ifso, a lot grammar and points made will get lost that way. Also it's not normal English I'm reading here, but I can make <i>some</i> sense of it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Ok, the picture is not loading, but I am assuming it is just a chamber "growing" out of a wall as opposed to a floor.

    This would be interesting... perhaps they can only be added to walls (and ceilings <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> ) where there is DI? You know, so the chamber has something to latch onto...
