<div class="IPBDescription">They are important</div> I've been in several games where comm's forget to even use them... They are cheaper than a fac and turret. You can get them fast. And if done right you can use them to hold off those initial rushes. I've found you can get mines on choke points fast than you can get descent turret forest. Don't be afraid to use em <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

btw ::notice:: do NOT place mines near turrents <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo--> or any other freindly structures because they WELL be damaged in the blast.
Anyways.
I like when I'm cloaked as a fade and a marine gets the bright idea to place mines all over the place, the second he places the 4th or 5th one, I blow them with acid rocket and he dies, and I get the kill. The moral? Don't place mines when there might be something nearby which likes to toast Marines over an open mine-explosion.
Stick em in vents too if you can ... nothing more annoying for a hopeful Lerk harasser than to get blown out at the top of a vent shaft by a well-placed proximity mine.
