<div class="IPBDescription">'ello</div>So - I'm going to London next week from sunday with my 2. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnasium_%28school%29" target="_blank">Gymnasium</a> class. We're supposed to film something for media class - non-fictional. Mockumentary is an option.
Me and the rest of my group haven't figured what we want to film, any ideas?
Also, what should I go see in London? We are staying at a Hyde park hostel.
Also, about pubs. I just spun around of joy after seeing that you share our (Denmark's) legal drinking age - 18. Lucky us! How is the pub culture? I figure it's about the same as what I'm used to seeing, but I would like to hear something about nightlife!

It really depends on whether you are willing to wait in line 1h+ or if you hate waiting.
Some standard stuff:
Changing of the Guards
London Dungeon
London Aquarium
London Eye
Harrods
Madam Toussods (spelling?)
Dali museum
Docklands container village
If you want to have a rather unorthodox film project I suggest you go fiml the guys holding up ad signs (dont worry you will see plenty of them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
And then turn the volume up to 11.
All of Faskalia's options are good, but almost all are damn expensive (London Dungeon probably isn't as expensive, mind). I would also recommend the Tate Modern, which is in a good location and not too expensive (some exhibits are free iirc, haven't been in a while).
Also there is (was?) a Banksy exhibition on somewhere that you may still be able to go see if you're interested in subversive urban street art.
Take a dump in a very clear container, put some flies in there. Go to each of the touristy places. Set the box down somewhere that has a good view of the place of interest. Film said "good view" through turdbox. Call it art.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So, are we allowed to assume that today was NOT a good day?
Your timing kinda sucks. Just a couple weeks latter (end of April) the globe starts King Lear, which is always worth seeing (and at 5 lbs for groundling tickets, a good price <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)
If you are into shakespear it is kinda worth taking a look around the globe itself (they have some nice stuff about the history of it IIRC).

Today was alright, not bad, not great. I just <strike>dislike England</strike> experiment with artistic style a lot.

And I used to think you were <i>cool</i>.
I'm shaking my head, right now.
Fixed. Yes I'm from London.
There's the H.M.S. Belfast, a second world war battlecruiser. Very impressive ship.
For a laugh, go see Tate Modern. Them's suggestion would fit in well there. Bring a friend or two and be very indignant about what people <strike>defile</strike> define as art nowadays. It kept me amused for an hour.
You could also play hide and seek in the Underground. Trust me, the Underground is awesome. The londoners always complain about it, but it's kinda how we complain that there's a speck of dust in our otherwise crystal-clear drinking water when millions of people all over the world have to dig their drinking water out of a ditch. Luxury issues, in other words. Compared to anything I've experienced, London's public transport was a dream of mobility.
And for breaks, try the parks. They're awesome.
Remember to see Covent Garden, Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square, while you're at it. Can't visit London without seeing those. Besides, there HAS to be a crowd at those places, so you might as well help.

The underground is scary. A dark, hot and amazingly windy system of tunnels where the only guidance is a coloured line that is faded beyond recognition in some points in tunnels where lights aren't working, and there's always a guy in a hood and baseball cap with his hands in his pockets slowly following you.
Barcelona's Metro is better. From what I remember the Paris Metro is better. Both are cheaper, even when you account for exchange rates and both run more efficient services.
However, the London Underground doesn't let ######ty buskers actually get onto the trains (they're just in the station). Don't get me wrong, some buskers truly are good and a pcket of sunshine on a dreary Monday morning commute, but when you have some talentless hack blasting horrible eurotrash from a tiny amp with both the volume and distortion pumped up to the MAX (as happened to me in Paris a number of times), you'll want to kill the ######.

IIRC you guys do pay a rather hefty fee for access, what is it up to now? The MTA (NY Transit) just did a rate hike (a strange one, but one none the less). What I remember of the underground was that it was relatively good, trains ran on time, not much over crowding, etc etc. But I wasn't using it for daily commuting, just for getting around on vacation. My 2 complaints were:
1) It shuts down around MIDNIGHT (well, last train leaves the first stop), was really kinda strange to me. (Sure, MTA slows down to about 2 trains an hr then, but still, it is running).
2) Really crappy buskers in the station murdering Beatles tunes. NYC buskers also suck, but I was with family then and couldn't jsut drown him out with my headphones <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
wind and rain is a pain in the ***, unfortunately....
I also recommend you check out some of the bars and restaurants, you can get some pretty amazing food. I know a lot of people here are in to Sushi, I don't like the stuff but my friend says there is a bar in Greenwich which he loves if you're in to that.
I wanted to go aaaages ago but it got closed due to a flood or something (I'd heard rumours that it closed because someone died from a heart attack while in it but it turns out it's not true =3 ).
I know it's coming back to london, supposedly sometime this year =o
Chances are if you've heard it in a wartime RTS, it is no longer in modern parlance for 99% of the population. Except for German or French, which is probably understood by 10% of the city's population! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
