Hi folks,
Well, here I am, in the market for a new monitor (whilst saving for a wedding, go me!) and I'm fairly settled on the 22" range as being 'right' for me. Actually, I think I liked the 20" range the best, but the price difference is so minimal (and the increase in resolution to 1680x1050) have convinced me I'd be daft to do so.
The problem is which 22" to go for. Right now, in my head I have 3 main choices...
<a href="http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-6107" target="_blank">Dell Ultrasharp 2208WFP</a> - Weighing in at around £200 if you shop around.
Pros are a gorgeous design, including height adjustment and a good past personal history with Dell monitors but 5ms response lets it down.
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SM2232BW-Glossy-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B000SOGB3S" target="_blank">Samsung SM2232BW</a> - Same price
Rave reviews as a monitor, 2ms response time, but some bad reports on their previous model (the 226BW) having some dodgy panels produced from other companies, and I just don't like the casing, as it looks like one of their TV's, and only has tilt.
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-P223W-Monitor-resolution-Response/dp/B0009PTD9U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1205944204&sr=1-2" target="_blank">The Acer P223W</a> - Cheaper at £175
Pros are a 'nice' design, a bit lighter on the wallet but only 5ms and doesn't have the 'brand recognition' of the other two. That said, does £25 difference really justify compromising on capabilities?
So, if you either have some knowledge on why I should pick one or the other, or own one you're very impressed with, preferably with a reference of comparison (I.E Being impressed with the only monitor you've seen isn't exactly difficult!) I'd appreciate a little input, as I'd quite like to finally purchase one of these lovely pieces of kit.
Thanks.

How much would you want for it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Take a number, stand in line!
Granted, these folks were also recommending the $1,000 NEC / Lucia dislays, so they were rather fanatic about the process, but I do think they're on to something. A TN display might be something you need to see before purchasing, or avoid altogether.
I know plenty of bouncy ADD 24 year olds, myself included.
screw 22 inch, try 37. haha, it's so nerdy and awesome. I have a dell 22 inch for normal use. It's not the ultrasharp but it's still pretty nice. only $300, which was decent.
I thought about that... honestly you'd have to be a really anal boss to complain about that. Whatever, I'll remove it if it's "inappropriate" and yes they are sketches.
Yeah, and try a table for your arms and hands <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
I had to really look hard at that picture to figure out what you were talking about. I really doubt anybody not looking for it is going to notice.
Very sharp and very nice colors.
I can't find any better 22" screen for a better price. Go for it.
