<div class="IPBDescription">different gravity per map</div>Most of the NS maps are in space/different planets. Why the gravity is constant?

Could be an interesting turn for NS. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Low-gravity makes air control and jump related movement slow and boring. Higher gravity makes it quite difficult to do anything since you can only progress on level terrain.

In order to preserve gameplay, the gravitational differences would have to be so minor as to be negligible.

This is pretty much why gravity has remained constant outside of secret rooms and the RR.

The readyroom is actually a magic generator for keeping gravity constant for every map. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Gravity is map-dependent - I guess they just never felt the need to implement alterations to it.

Gravity shifts in either direction would severely impact gameplay and aliens would be crushed so much more easily. Either they won't be able to jump to evade or they jump so high, constant and slow that it's even easier to hit with an LMG. Not worth it.

This does bring up the issue of why the Frontiersmen dont just turn off the gravity and use some spankin' magnetic boots to walk on in and shoot up the place <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Possibly the bacterium hijacks some ship functions and keeps gravity at a comfortable level.

I try to impart just a slight little bit of that evil into every post I make, Insect <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Also, that brings up an interesting question. If the bacteria can hook into the base/ship systems and manipulate the gravity, might it not also be possible for it to control other ships functions? Navigation perhaps?

This may be but one vector by which the bacterium spreads, by hijacking the ships computer core <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

Well, it would be a very stupid smart alien species if it just took over ships at random.
