NSGuides and The E-Team

NS2Guides
A while ago the NS community had a group of players tasked with teaching new players the complexities of NS. These people sport the purple gorge icon on servers and on this forum. This group of people is very small, and although I played a lot of NS during this time I never saw one in game while the program was "active". Maybe this could be one of the new purposes of the E-Team, not just attracting new players but retaining them. I feel like there are a lot of E-Team members who would be mature enough to help teach NS2Players a new game. Especially if there were some materials that could facilitate training such as designated servers or designated training times.

im pro this idea, although im not sure how'd u get the right players to fufill this role. Also ud have to get new players to listen to them. I definatly think this forum community/ e team has a responsibility towards the game play culture in ns2. When ns does launch, in all probability most of the people on these forums, will be in the first groups of players playing the game, the example we set on team communication, helping confused players, and general game play atmosphere maybe significant.

If this thread is in part a response to my rant about noob alienating players there maybe some additional solutions

server side admins could take a tougher line on noob verbal abuse

And i spose you could try servers for noobs, they have em on cs, but i dont know how they well they work. Cs also has a much larger player base than cs so it can support these kinds of servers

Same here totally pro on that, I remeber being a n00b at this game 2 years ago , not knowing wth I was doing. Good thing I made some friends on the servers I played on, but I remeber moving around on servers b4 I was a active donater, and feeling pushed away by "1337" players, as if I didnt belong because I wasn't around when NS first came out.

I'm still brand new to the community, but from what I've been reading and hearing, the people and the team here are awesome and very welcoming. I just hope that we can transfer this way of thinking and acting to new players to NS, our world will be a better/ well populated world <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    NS 4 EVERY1!!!!

I would say that's a fair statement. I was going to post this as a response but I figured it deserved it's own topic. I agree there are lots of solutions in that topic, I was hoping to get some feedback from the people in this forum on whether they'd want to be guides.
