Okay, as you wish I tell what I know about this optimizion. (how hell to write this optimizion word correct?)

RedHat 7.2
Athlon XP 2000+ (1,67GHz) with 512MB DDR

You need to configure this autoexec.cfg file.

Pingbooster 3 caused erratic pings, and while it did keep pings down a little, it ate up CPU resources.

Suicide, read the FAQ.txt file with the halfd download. It explains that it will run and how to get it to run with win.

ok, yeah, you would see some performance that way. Plus compiling your own kernel helps because you don't have all that garbage the "generic" kernels have. I might recompile mine sometime and let you guys know the before and after...that is if flaya doesn't release a patch before then. I hear he is working really hard on it.

EDIT : Btw, i've recompiled my kernel many many times so i'm not running a generic. Not sure what good that does since its not based on any generic kernels that most linux servers run. Oh well.

If you upgrade to gcc 3.0 cracker its supposed to have some uber optimization code now. Of course there is a small chance your kernel won't work...
