Did you guys hear much about this game. I watched the trailer, and it reminded me of NS for some reason.

Especially the ending, where you see a skulk-like creature.

Yeah, this is an updated version of a pretty old trailer. They've been working on the game for a while. I always thought it looked really, really crappy. The awful story (lol mutated sharks) plus the cheesy voiceover (their lives will be changed <i>forever</i>) plus the awful looking faces plus the guns that are basically just modern day guns... it just doesn't scream quality to me. Or Natural Selection, for that matter. The similarities are only where the trailer copies from other stuff that influenced NS, like Alien.

Edit: And I don't think it's really a game. They "intend" to use the Unreal 3 engine, and it's 100% prerendered right now. I don't know if they have any code at all. They've certainly had a while to work on it.

Are you sure? Seems to me that they show the HUDs of the players which could mean those parts of the trailer were actual game play. Not sure though.

I'm totally sure. A HUD does not real time footage make.

not to mention the green preview frame at the start said it was pre-rendered.

My impression? crap. With some strong story work, a reworking of the shots, and a whole bunch of new models and textures, this could be a decent trailer. Of course that's pretty much starting from scratch.

A couple things I noticed, that sky scraper towards the beginning was vertical city taken right off of the Discovery channel.
Also,... "A new breed of soldier<b>s</b> will evolve?"

The lack there of textures is making my eyes bleed.

    [edit]
Oki my bad, the low voice dude actually said soldier<b>s</b>. Hmm I'm lost what was the problem again? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
