Today, I was reading this story about how a dog gave up its life to save her owner. Really sad story. Link: <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071116/ap_on_fe_st/odd_hero_dog;_ylt=AqG6Mpw53nAhwKZuync6isGs0NUE" target="_blank">http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071116/ap_on_...KZuync6isGs0NUE</a>
Eversince I was little, I had a deep relationship with dogs. Last Year I got my first dog (gave her a human name Jackie):

After reading the article, I read someone's comment who referred to this video on YouTube:

This made me realize how much I love dogs, I actually cried watching this video. Don't know why, but I'm a 18 year old guy so.....
So, you guys have pets? or had pets?

So no, I don't have any pets currently.</div>
They respond well to treats (cracked corn).

Two dogs, both around the size of an ordinary housecat, but with less hair.
I've got two cats. One is the most loving cat ever, but he's terrified of everyone but me. but when I'm alone, he won't leave me alone, always marking, kneading, sleeping on my lap... it's almost annoying. the other one is exactly the opposite. she likes strangers and doesn't like me. maybe it's because I'm marked as the boy cat's property already...
also their names are Nef and Ony. they're named after WoW bosses that are now obsolete. because I'm a nerd that way.

I've had (in order):
* bird (tchicko)
* 4 turtles (rafaello, donatello, leonardo, michelangelo)
* ginea pigs: I got one, after about a year another, thinking it was female as well - it wasn't, we turned it back in but the one we had had 4 babies, of which we kept one (jerry, tommy)
* another bird (witje, ~whitey - got him at a fair, didn't live too long)
* 2 fish & 2 snails (forgot names)
* 2 birds (babbel en knabbel, the dutch equivalent of chip 'n dale, somewhat meaning "rant" and "munch")
* moar fish
* a bird like the one in the pic, who is a hellspawn (ricky)

I used to have a dog too. He was the most awesome dog in the world ever, but he probably died in a ditch due to a long and annoying set of circumstances. Poor thing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

family pet - going on 9 years old I think. The blue toy is what we call his "baby" since he take it everywhere and seems to love it.
it always is on the other side.....laaaaame.
Not sure what to say to that - thanks?
No he doesn't. He looks interested in what is happening outside of the shot.
The first dog, Shadow, is an old, old, old, old girl. 98 years old in dog years. She hasn't had much in the way of teeth most of her life(they're there, but small and sparse), but otherwise she's a fine dog. Probably in her last year though- her memory and mind are going, and she's as deaf as a doorknob. Poor girl, but I love her more than nearly all my relatives. We don't know what she is, but we guess some kind of bulldog/pug mixed with a boston terrier or something.
Then, there's Amber. She used to be my Uncle's dog, and you could describe her with one word: Love. She's the kind of dog that just wants to be with you, spend time with you, crawl up on you and hug you and be a good girl. She also gets really energetic, which is always entertaining, but her funniest feature is that she's determined to turn into a real girl one day. She sleeps on her back under my parent's bedcovers(when they let her), with her front paws up over the blanket. She stands up and will walk around on her hind legs for a while. And if me and my Dad are talking at the dining room table, she'll sit in an adjacent chair and watch as we talk. Cutest dog ever.
Bud, the cat, is an ######, in every sense of the word. He likes causing pain, making a ruckus, and running away from you. He's skittish as hell and his only love in the world are his Cat treats. I love him despite all this, and he's got the softest damn fur I've ever felt in my life. Pissing him off is also a good order of fun(pick him up, then press a finger into his cheek- he tries to bite down on it, effectively biting himself). He also has provided some of the funniest moments ever- his fascination with flashlights has gotten him hurt more than once(Once, he was staring at a light on the ground between him and a piece of furniture, barely 6 inches away, and when my dad poked his back he high tailed it as fast as he could- into the piece of furnature).
A while back ago, we had Odie. He was a nice dog, but his life sucked. My neighbor found him when she was at Kragen(an auto parts store, it has different names in different parts of the country), in a dumpster. He hadn't eaten for 4 days, and was pretty close to death. After nursing him back to health, she showed them to us, and my Dad couldn't get enough of the dog. He was at first very skittish, and afraid of everything, but over time he became one of the most lovable, awesome dogs of all time. He was about 8 months old when we got him. We found out he was deathly scared of leashes(put him on one and he'd freeze- he'd even let his legs get dragged through the dirt if you tried to pull him along), but also he was insanely loyal(so the leash was pointless anyway 'cause he'd never run off). He also could run pretty insanely fast- he'd use the curve in our couch to get himself up horizontally, running so fast that he could keep himself there- once, even running 10 feet up the side of a tree(I cought him afterwards, or he probably would've gotten hurt).
Odie died after 4 years, from complications of what happened to him before we found him. One of the best parts about him is that we thought Shadow would've died the year he came to us if it wasn't for him, and him coming was like a life reboot for her. And I swear, if I ever find one of the ######ers that did those terrible things to Odie, I'm going to kill them, personally, and take my time doing it. That dog had more of a right to live than any of them, and his passing was bull###### for their ######ing sick sense of entertainment.

I've had almost everything
Currently:
Dog (pomeranian)
Snake (ball python)
My brother's pets:
turtle
two parakeets (don't know what type)
Had (died, gave away or ran away):
Three more parakeets
Macaw
one lovebird
Some kind of white colored parrot
Snake (don't know what kind)
two dogs (both pomeranian)
Three puppies that came from those two dogs
four hamsters
iguana
countless goldfish
two japanese fighting fish
two tropical fish (don't know what kind)
Some kind of sting ray
hermit crab
five turtles
cat (don't know what kind)
rabbit
salamander
Six frogs
Quite the contrary, he's just getting old. The second you play with him though he's all ears and tail wags. He's got a pretty sweet life, I'm actually a bit jealous.
Surprisingly little, to both. The two black and white ones in the bottom right are mother/daughter and extremely attached (especially the little one, Gizmo). The ginger one is also the son of the same older black and white cat. The one in middle right (Pepper) is the mother of the larger black and white one (Minnie), so all of those are blood related and get on surprisingly well.
The cat in the top right is Toby and he's huge and aggressive towards a lot of things (he has killed other cats and left them on our doorstep) but is actually fairly weird in cat terms. He stays away from the other cats (except Mitzi , the other remaining cat) and just lies on my mom a lot. He also watches me do things and actually learns, I swear. He knows how to use the kettle, for example.
Mitzi just lies on me all the time. She does this thing where she hugs you, which is unbearably cute.

I demand youtubes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Also dogies for me, Germans Shepherds. Actually I've grown up my whole life with them, the current one is called Ronan von Nordseesturm. He's wacky as in doesn't want people to leave, he goes all hyperdog and tries to distract them with his toys (especially the annoying squeeky ones <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />)
Yeah, but it would look helluva cool. Also I'm not sure he is a good thing to have as a sheep control unit. I think he might mistake the sheep for sqeeky toys instead of mind controing them like the border collies do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Go watch Snatch.
Umm, I have had in my life:
2 dogs (Daisy and Lucy)
2 cats (Oreo and Mickey)
2 hermit crabs (no clue)
2 birds (1 budgie, no name that I remember; 1 African Grey, Pete)
1 Iguana (Nylon)
At this point only Lucy is still alive and kicking (though she is old now).
Some sorta mutt, has a decent amount of Husky (or some sorta Spitz)
/me goes off humming "Shut Me Up"
