    Questionable value indeed.  I am kinda sick of seeing posts with hundreds of smilies spammed, as is often the case on other message boards.

    Fam, your smilies are pretty cool.  Be nice to see them added.

    The other thing about smilies that gets me is that they're twice the height of the text, so you get an extra blank line thrown in.  I dunno how easy/hard it'd be to fix this, but it's just a minor annoyance.

    MonsieurEvil, on the Ikonboard website there is a set of smileys for use with dark backgrounds. It would get rid of that annoying white fringe around the edge.

    omg, i think 2 emoticosn are more then enough, I've seen what no limit on them can do, then you get posts consistent of emoticons only, plz don't make a fuzz about this, if you'd said, animated emoticons, or just more emoticons, i would've agreed, or at least I would've understand it, but for this............bah.

    Hmmm, I can see that most people are against this, so let me get it straight.... I will offer you a deal, we have 2 emoticons now, and I must say that unlimited makes it boring, buuuut, what IF! you get like... one emoticon each 100 letters or something, I mean, if you have a VERY long post, 2 emoticons is a number too small, or, if this is too much to bother doing, just give us 3 and I'll give up the fight  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    Hmm, I must confess that I've sometimes felt the urge to put in a 3rd smiley in longs posts, but I see the reasons not to make it higher, as mentioned earlier it'd make d/l the pages take longer for those of us that don't have broadband.
