when will we see more concepts? :)

I am very curious about how you are going to improve the kharaa in ns2, hopefully see some pictures soon so i can start trying to draw their new designs for fan art <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Will they be changing slightly in form and shape? Or even changing at all, or altogether !

I really want to see some more kharaa concept works from you guys!

    Honestly i hope they dont change much. NS has such an amazing setup already... IMO NS2 should be very very close to the original. Mainly because source will be NS' "coming out". A good number of players have played NS, but the vast, vast majority have never heard of it. The worst case in my mind would be that too much is changed, its too out of balance, its too gimmicky, that people will see it and turn away.

    The current setup took 4 years to get right. I know there'll be changes, but for the love of god, keep it mostly how it is in NS1. Its already the best game out there, its just on a dated engine.

    I personaly would like to see more concept art on the aliens. We have quite a few on various landscapes and a few on marines. The only aliens one so far is one giant (4x a mrines size) onos, and a few little skulks in bubles.

    I thought that too you know, NS is already near perfection. but the problem is, now that ive played portal and ep2 , it seems that ns might not be able to compete with some of the really good games out there - it might be seem as just another hallway space shooter if it doesn't have something up its sleeve.

    by change i mean more anatomically correct, the skulks elbows for example are horribly designed. it looks like its legs should collapse upwards the second it lands on the ground.. and it needs a neck to look up to get on walls..

    the lerks wings should NOT be pink, they should be the same colour as the body.. when you see the pink on a bats wings its the sun reflecting the blood cells in the wings giving it a pink tinge.. and kharaa have green blood.. not pink..

    the onos i believe needs a total revamp.. infact if anything people relate the onos as a cow.. is this a new alien race or a sequel to the movie black sheep? seriously.. a new onos look than a skinned cow would be great.. its too earth like to be considered an alien.. its just considered a mutant cow.

    I would like it if the aliens at least visually were redesigned to scare the crap out of me. Most of them bar maybe the fade dont look particually menising. But the gorge shouldnt, it should remain cute. The monsters in doom, and aliens in avp are quite scary, i would prefer the ns aliens if they were more imposing rather than just efficient killers.

    I've mentioned this a hundred times, but if the fade became like 20% seethrough when he blinked, it would REALLY give more of the effect of 'teleporting' than 'moving quickly'.

    They used to literally blink back in the day, but it caused to many problems. Losing your 50 res class because he got stuck in a wall and all his energy drained was NOT FUN in clan matches.

    Yeah, i remember those days. I kinda wish we could re-implement that just for a bit to mess around with it. My fade skills now (much like many of ours, as we've played for so long) would be crazy to put to use on an instant teleport.

    But they are supposed to be an entirely new lifeform. That is to say, they may not have physiology or anatomy comparable to that of earth. I could make up a bunch of plausible alternatives to suggest why these mechanisms work in an environment that is free of practical limitations. I disagree on the point that the Onos is "too eath like" or more specifically that it is more earth like than any of the others. Most of the aliens are just analogs of mammals with more spikes and exoskeleton on them haha.
