Can someone post a screenshot of what the graphics look like maxed out? Anyone get even close to the official screenshots?
Running on a decent system with dx9 card (ATI XT9800pro) and it looks pretty ugly. Colours are all high contrast and washed out and the blurr effects on the edges are really over done. Is it the lack of dx10 that makes it look so bad?
If this is the best they can do, Id be happier to go back to the UT 2004 graphics.
As it's been stated, the demo only has graphics up to the 'medium' setting (I'm assuming to keep the download somewhat reasonable in size). You really can't judge how it looks since max settings on the demo are very far from max. The final game may still look bad, but don't make any conclusions just yet.

Anyway, how many Unreal brand games does this make? I need a bigger Hard Disk though... These dual 36gb raptors aren't going to cut it these days with all the freaking releases of games and demo's!

i didnt like it one bit, maybe because its not good, or maybe because its exactly the same game since 10 years ago.
Its kind of like a band that keeps release cds which all sound the same, they might all be equally as good, but because the sounds hasnt grown up with its listeners it doesn't appeal the original crowd anymore. Of course then there is the risk you could take by changing your sound to appeal to long time listeners, or by not appealing to anyone anymore because you changed too much.
I feel that UT3 is the first example here. I've outgrown it, and with games that have so much more depth and strategy this is just quake 1 with awesome gfx. which aren't even that awesome cause you can't AA lol.
There's a difference between depth and strategy and perception of it. Games like UT3 require more depth and strategy than any Battlefield clone. That said, I haven't played UT3 but heard meh-things from fans.

Nah, there's a lot more twitch and stuff than BF but the strategy is sort of equal. Different but equal.

I dont like it one bit.
The way i see it is Epic took the same old UT gameplay from 10 years ago, put it on their spanking new awesome graphics engine and released as a tech demo.
I dont think they even need to make money off this game cause they are doing good in licensing the unreal engine.
I still haven't tried it yet. Downloaded it and installed it but it doesn't seem to want to run and I'm not interested enough in it yet to figure out why.

Of course they could be bad people for other reasons; I make no such judgments.

However, to me it isn't even that UT3 doesn't have anything new. It is that it seems slow. well, slow compared to other UT games.
I expect ridiculous speed (The hover board should be HARD to control at top speed), high precision weapons (currently the weapons seem out of sync, click/pause/fire), etc etc.

Rofl, it's been public the entire time.
$5 says the next post is "Are you serious?" then that post will be edited with "EDIT: Holy crap!"
