Thats rather upset me I thought it was going to be a nice single player game with a good story set in london after hell but i did a youtube look an came up with this.

it looks horrible and repetitive. Bleh
But go ahead if you think it'll pay off for you. No skin off my back.
EDIT: Apparently I *can* pre-order Duke Nukem Forever though. That's just wrong.
Lies, there's no fun in Diablo II. Ever.

Yes, I might play the game for so long that it actually pays off, or I might not and waste money. It's a gamble, and the only MMO I've stayed with for over a year is Guild Wars (which I take long, long breaks from, too). If I were to buy this I would be rather certain to lose money, compared to any other option.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree. It's too much of a gamble, I'd probably end up playing just to get my money's worth after the fun wore off. While I think that paying a single subscription fee is how it should be, it's a really steep price.
half? I pay like £15 for a good night out around town here.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Q: If I buy a US pre-order and live in a different country, will the Dye Kit, Beta invite, and Founders Offer still be available to me?
A: Yes, but only on the servers in the same region where the pre-order was made, and each region will have its own Founders Offer.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Or in other words: If you hate ######ty pings...
You forget I live in the South and that I can drink more than you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
maybe we should all preorder Duke Nukem Forever - maybe then they'll actually make a game...

HGL does have a single player. It also has a free online mode and a pay to play mode.
Also what are you computer specs?
I just knock the ###### unconscious; no cost then as long as I'm cautious.

Head asplode. You can play it for free or join our nifty "cool person club" for 150$ Yeah guess which I'm going to try.
That video of gameplay reminds me a lot of the GW Alpha, mostly due to the bleak ruins contrasted by colorful avatars.
Me, I'm not convinced that playing it online for free is going to remain attractive for very long. Most people will probably think "hah, like I'm going to pay more like I have to!" initially, and then get suckered in by nice features or content that only subscribers get. The more stubborn ones will probably find themselves marginalised or excluded as more and more players concentrate on subscriber-exclusive dungeons and such.
If you want to play it safe, go into this game assuming that you will have to pay a monthly fee for it to stay interesting. Should it turn out that you are perfectly happy with the free content, consider that a bonus. And should you end up bored with the game by the time you run out of free content and quit anyway, pat yourself on the shoulder for not buying the "founder's offer."

Its $10 a month for pay to play.
Anyone actually playing?
Is it worth it?
Or maybe a blademaster.
As lolfighter said, the $150 is exactly as they say, for the hardcore players. People will play it and the 125,000 founders accounts will definitely be sold. The usual fee is $10 and is completely optional.
Nobody knows what that $10 p/m will get you. It could just be little new skins, maybe some new mobs and new items, but on the other hand, it could grant entire new game modes, new dungeons, entirely new item and mob sets. As i said, nobody knows exactly, all we do know is that there;s the promise of new items and more player slots (9).
The game is still free to play though. For free accounts you only get 3 character slots, and you don't get access to the new game modes, models, dungeons and so on. There is still, however, a wealth of content for you to play through and collect.
I'm definitely buying Hellgate, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun and it's from the makers of Diablo 1/2 so it should live up to their legacy. I'll start out on a free account but if the subscription benefits pan out to be pretty good, i'll most likely sub for a while too.
But the bottom line is. Hellgate is still absolutely free to play offline, and it's still free to play online. Just if you want the bells and whistles, you've got to pay.

It should be noted that it may be a possibility that expansions will be released containing the updates so people who play the free modes or single player can get the content.

Consider wow is what £9 a month, 10 months* £9 is £90. <b>As long as the game launches and sells well its a very very good deal.</b><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->You forgot to mention it has to actually provide at least a year's solid entertainment and have the sort of support that EA are notoriously bad at providing for it to be worth that much. Do yourself a favour, buy 5 good games (2 full price, 3 budget) or take a road trip instead.
A hit of cocaine in London is around £50-75, let alone the beer being around £3 and the massive cocktail jugs now going up to £17. £150 over 12 hours is easy to spend. Just to clarify, I don't do drugs but know the prices.
