anyone know of a program that can do this?

<div class="IPBDescription">looking to clean out the ole' HD</div>so my HD is almost full, and I have no clue how since I feel like I have next to nothing on it. I have in my head a picture of a program that can look at your hard drive and show you a display of the size of all the contents of all your folders, by folder structure... so say I went to C:\, it might tell me that 65% of my drive's contents are under Documents and Settings, so I could double click on that and dig deeper until I find some big folders or files I can delete... does such a program exist? hopefully free =p

edit: googling around after I posted this, I found <a href="http://www.foldersizes.com/download-folder-sizes/index.htm" target="_blank">FolderSizes</a>, which does the job admirably - but it's only shareware... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

at any rate, I found the culprit - I apparently inadvertently hit my fraps key while playing Pirates! recently and took over 100 gigs of footage of myself mindlessly sailing the Caribbean...

The program is called SpaceMonger. It's just an executable, no installation, and in my experience it works great (for Windows XP at least). The older versions work, and they are free (compared to the newest version, which is limited to a 30 day trial).

Try using <a href="http://www.sixty-five.cc/sm/" target="_blank">SpaceMonger</a> the older version is free and it works great. Not only that, it is tiny! I haven't tried the retail versions, so I wouldn't know anything about them, but version 1.4 works great.

    <a href="http://windirstat.info/" target="_blank">WinDirStat</a> is like Spacemonger but better. And it's 100% free.

Very nicely laid out program. I managed to clean out a few old things lurking on here that I had forgotten about. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I thought there was an indicator to tell you that you were recording. That made me laugh though, I've got this good mental image of someone "dum de dumming" around in a video game.

Give JDiskReport a shot. Works good too.
