Marine Command Hierarcy

Related to other threads on rewarding or punishing helpful and (I'll be nice) "un-helpful" marine players... As an off-time commander I had often wished I could designate a specific player for the team to follow/support. I don't remember which version allowed the comm to way point a marine player - but I use this function often enough to get the team where I need them.

My thought has always been to designate a captain or squad sargent for the squad to follow. In deference to several other threads I have read here - as a positive reward function/incentive to other players to follow their captain could be to have the captain act as a mobile support character - handing out meds or having a high efficiency welder or functioning as a low range observatory or whatever...

The point being that when a squad is created the commander has the option to designate a squad captain who functions as a local commander for the squad - capable of designating a local marine structure or even her/himself as a way point - but only for her/is squad. (The way point may be of a different color and the commander can over-ride anything in any event) Also - the ability to drop meds/ammo (still at a cost to the team - perhaps with a res rate/max designated by the commander when the rank was given) etc. Just don't take this as a higher powered marine - no bonus to damage/armor/speed/etc.

    The idea of the reward is cool, but mostly for fun or to gives more proudness & hunger of the marines ' omg I need that reward, I must be a r0><0r ! '.
    And I think that a sub commander ( captain, sergeant, whatever ) isn't a good idea. Commanding 10 marines ( and that's an high populated game ! ) is too low to admit that there's " another " commander. One guy can lead 10ppl quite easyly.
