Psychonauts cards (56k Warning)

If any of you have ever played Psychonauts, you'll remember the level Black Velvetopia. And if you're like me, you'll remember thinking that those cards were awesome.

Apparently, with the limited edition original release of the game, you could get a deck of cards like that. Since I didn't get the game until much later, I didn't have this luxury. What I did have was some tools to explore the game files, Photoshop, and a whole lot of time to kill. Thus, without further ado, here is the fruits of my labor.

<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/02.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/03.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/04.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/05.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/06.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
<img src="http://rooftopheroes.com/images/psychonauts/07.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Each card should be standard poker card size (2.5 inches by 3.5 inches). A sheet of nine, as presented, should fit on a single piece of paper (or card stock).

    I think he made them so that you can print them out if you have a fancy printer. If your original game didn't come with a deck of cards, I don't think there's an official way of getting them.

    What kind of game is Psychonauts?

    adventure

    You play a kid with latent psychic abilities who has run away from his parents and the circus (opposite of most kids desires).

    At the camp for such gifted children, things go wrong.

    stage set.

    You forgot to mention the part where you explore the minds of crazy people.

    Which is, you know, the most important part.

    hence the psychic part.

    though it is part psychokinetic, psychoshootstuff, and psychofloaty.

    You forgot to mention the part where it's designed by Tim Freaking Schafer (that's not his actual middle name). The Schafemeister! The Schafester! Sir Schafesalot!

    No, they gave you an actual deck of cards if you bought it at Gamestop or something when it came out. What I did was use <a href="http://quick.mixnmojo.com/psychonauts-explorer" target="_blank">Psychonauts Explorer</a> to extract the in-game texture files, and then I used Photoshop to combine the symbols, numbers, and card face to make a set. Luckily, the face cards were already there (except for the Jack of Hearts, for some reason, which I had to make).

    Right, because exploring abstract representations of people's minds specifically is the first thing that comes to mind when somebody says "psychic". As opposed to any of the many, many other subjects and definitions covered by the word.
