i trayed that env_particles_custom and get nothing. i don't care how whit this or sprites but i need a steam what will look like steam and i need it horizontaly.
Using the env_particles_custom entity is very difficult and tedious at first to get to work right. Try using some tutorials on it. Also, there is an initial delay on all env_particle_custom entities of about 30 seconds after the maps starts before they actually start emitting particles.
i trayed this <a href="http://halflife.qeradiant.com/halflife/athl2.htm" target="_blank">http://halflife.qeradiant.com/halflife/athl2.htm</a>
but i don't hawe a place to enter some values <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Thats the old way of creating steam (eating up to many runtime entities). NS introduced something called the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns/static/Mapping_Guidelines.html#env_particles_custom" target="_blank">env_particle_custom</a>
This is a particle renderer, which can spew out all kinds of things. In your case it would be steam ^_^
GiGaBiTe said the same thing btw <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
There are probably some tutorials left on the net, have a look for them. I also remember there being a program to setup the entity in an empty map and edit it in realtime... (mapping faq?)
Meh have a look for yourself, I'm gonnah catch some Zzzzzzzz's

The in-game particle editor is extremely buggy and rarely works correctly. It became even more broken on Steam because of the console and vgui changes.

Nah I'm not talking about ingame (which at one time did work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> ), but an external editor.
After editing it in that program you can copy paste the env_particle_custom into your own map (never used it though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )

Ya know, I figured it out briefly a month ago. Since the "external" tool didn't work for me, I ended up doing a lot of tweaking and testing with the in game editor (once I figured it out!)
But I'll be damned if I can remember how to use it off the top of my head (and no ns install on my linux machine yet...) I should have wrote it all down step by step...
