Suppression fire works, because ramboing does not work. You die in 2 hits, are rather slow and when you do not know where the enemy is you wont raise your head, cause it would mean instant death and thus having to wait rather long for respawn. (And bullet impact seems also quite intimidating in this game)
Deadly L refers to how to move when fighting in rather open areas (mainly woods) you position your squad as a L and not as a U, to avoid FF and maximize the number of people having clear los on the enemy.
Yes, people move in groups when they realize that they can win in groups!
Muzzle flashes are pretty easy to spot when someone is firing for more than 1 second. (You can also see them often through walls, which is pretty strange, but meh) I agree that they are not big, but they are extremely bright and can be seen even through fog and smoke.
I just want to add one point: CARS. They are the absolutely best cover in the whole game. When you are kneeling behind a car you can shoot through the cars windows, but it seems that noone is able to hit you. I experimented with this a little and was able to withstand a whole ak47 drum without being hit. Thus said: CARS ARE AWESOME!

The easiest way to enable teamwork is to tell everyone where the next objective is. Unfortunately the INS devs didn't think this was important so you'll have to do it yourself on the mic/in chat. Once everyone knows they'll go there because they know they'll be guaranteed at least 1 person to shoot at. If you don't know yourself, then you're screwed because you didn't memorise the map on the loading screen because you don't have a photographic memory like all good soldiers. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
Even if you can't coax your allies into a group, remember that smoke grenades are your second best friend. If you don't have any, just steel your nerves and move cautiously--it isn't that hard once you get to know the maps and begin to vaguely grasp their structure.
The shotguns are only a problem two maps: sinjar (two roads near a heavily constructed plateau, one of them littered with vehicles) and karkar (coal mine). Even in those two, they're only difficult to handle in the initial approaches; shotguns become much more useful once the marines have breached the first objectives.

I have to agree with some of you guys. Teamwork is not existent on public servers. I got the feeling once that I was moving in a group, but it was just people spawning at the same time, and everyone just sprinted for their favorite camp spot.
I still find camping with the support class or shotgun to be the best choice <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
