Find this Google street view easter egg

A friend of mine works on the Google street view project. He said there is some sort of easter egg they put in it near the corner of Telegraph and Bancroft Way. I spent a few minutes looking around and couldn't find it...<a href="http://www.google.com/maps?q=Telegraph+Ave+%26+Bancroft+Way,+Berkeley,+CA,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title" target="_blank">can you</a>?

    Well, when I try route calculating from that place to "mainz" in germany, I still says: "swim through the atlantic" . Maybe he meant by easteregg: "We just kept the first apil koje when traveling from that location".

    Stupid internet and lack of ability to read peopel through it. You do realize those are just copywrite water marks they put on all their google maps stuff, right?

    That is probably the google watermark.

    If you click on the link Flarya provided, zoom it in to the maximum without changing the position, then click on street view. The little yellow man has a trippy tie died tee-shirt and is giving the peace sign.

    a photo is a photo. They own the pictures, and don't want people takign them and selling them as their own (as the most obvious example).

    I presume it is a deterant to people who might consider mass copying all the locations with some kind of spider. Street view isn't just a photo.. with the way you can pan around and view so many perspectives, you could use that data in many applications.

    my guess is they use a special program and a very Expensive camara (takes panoramas) and drive around taking a photo every few meters.

    ZOMG.

    I just had a revelation. Using Photosynth, and all of Google's stuff, you could have some pretty awesome virtual tours of cities. Everything should be filled in with Street View, and then Photosynth could find more pictures to add.
