This is amazing, it's something right out of a sci-fi flick. Now if the whole world was like this... DUN DUN DUN!

I didn't get why this was so special til I tried the tech demo. Just... WOW. The view of the main upper-part of the cathedral front, with the huge mural, is in such high quality no matter the zoom level. Imagine the real estate uses of this... 3D touring of houses you live hundreds of miles away from. Entire counties, with a clear view of every room from every angle of the house available to you by only spinning your mouse around. I only wish you could keep several pictures up at once.

Hooooray Microsoft! Oh wait we're supposed to hate Microsoft.

Uh, hooray Photosynth! I got this comfused with Luxology's imagesynth at first but now I'm totally down with it. I remember seeing an old demonstration of that Notre Dame thing. Pretty neat.

And Soylet, you kind of just linked us the original video.

It's really nice seeing microsoft developing these things <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> i've never really hated MS (well, ofcourse i've damned them to hell when my computer messed up but that doesn't really count). But i'm actully starting to like them, it seems they've gotten some good designers and the programmers to back them up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Microsoft has been developing crazy new software since basically forever. This is nothing new.
